Many Russians also have land somewhere in village where they plant vegetables and fruits, i live in North region of Russia and all of my family members are "white collars", but we have land where we have potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, apple trees, currant and a lot of other types or veggies and fruit trees and bushes which can grow in our region. Of course, we have a lot of flowers too:) For my family Its like a hobby but this "home grown" food is so tasty and "clean" from pesticide thats why many families preserve and save their veggies and fruits for winter time, it helps to maintain family budget, and its a healthy food. Some of familes even sell extra veggies, fruits or flowers. Many Russians have very deep connection with the land and they know how to grow food.

Just that a smartphone and household appliances have grown in price, but a lot are brought from China, so prices are stabilizing. Prices have fallen for fruits, vegetables are about the same. prices for meat and especially sausage have dropped significantly compared to last year. I prefer to buy a local producer, meat costs from $ 3, offal from 90 cents. Eggs have also fallen in price a lot, if last year they were somewhere around $ 1.5, now they are less than $ 1. You act as if the Russian people started this war. It was one man, Vladimir Putin. It also raises another issue tied to sanctions. What is the point of sanctioning a country, when the only people who suffer are it’s innocent people? It’s not like sanctions have stopped Putins actions or influenced him to stop at all, he is not affected by any of this, yet the people of the country are. Sanctions don’t solve conflicts. Putin is in an ever more powerful position globally than ever before. If we wanted Putin to stop, we already would have done something.

This is not the first time I have read that sanctions do not apply to food or ordinary goods, this is an extremely wrong, erroneous judgment! The Russian Federation almost does not import food products from Europe and the USA, and produces 90% of it itself. But the means of production that we have always bought from you are now all under sanctions! It is impossible to officially import spare parts for tractors and combines, tools, technologies - everything is under sanctions! So, when you look at the availability of food on the shelves of our stores, you must understand that the producers found a way out of a very serious situation and were able to grow a wonderful crop, produce a product and deliver it to the counter!
