I have been looking for this song for nearly 20 years. My parents used to play it when I was just a kid, and I never knew what the title was. I recently found Cannonball, another song I liked from back in the day, and it just occurred to me that I should check out the rest of this album to see what else it had. And lo and behold, I found this song. I cannot tell you how HAPPY I am to know what it is now, and to relive the memory of hearing it for the first time as an 8-year-old kid. Thank you so much for posting this.

This is supertramps prog magnum Opus and one of their most aggressive and rocking tracks thanks to the twin guitar special guests of Scott Gorham and David Gilmour this is their last classic album

It isn't their last classic album. People often misclassify Rick Davies as an unsophisticated blues musician. He started off as a youngster learning to play the organ real time on the spot as he said he wanted to play with a group. So he managed to fake it. He then would master the drums. He was so great that the other percussionist in a former group quit on the spot with the complaint that Rick was just "too good." Later, Rick would move over from the drums to the piano. So, Rick is really more of a drummer that plays percussion on the piano. All the latter albums after this one really do need better audio equipment to appreciate them.

@@georgemathie8123 Your welcome. Rick was the synergy guy that always put the group first. He was also the energy guy. After finishing a show as Supertramp, he would often go elsewhere to continue playing as his imaginary band called "Ricky's Rockets." His mother once said that when a youngster he heard a drum Corp parading by and went marching off after them. She said he never returned to be the same after that finding his calling. He speaks of hearing a record of a band and how it knocked his socks off. Finding a magic that to him must have sounded like Supertramp, he said he couldn't get enough of it playing it over and over thousands of times. This all might be a surprising bit of information to learn by the many that got carried by Roger H..

There's a red cloud hanging over us And it's so big and it's gonna burst All you people with your heads in the ground Hey brother, where you bound? And they're no good and they're everywhere Try to tell you, but you just don't care Try to hear you but you don't make a sound Hey brother, where you bound? Hey brother, where you bound? And you don't know what they're gonna do And you don't know how they feel And you don't know what they're tellin' you Is it a lie or is it real And the next thing that you know is That they walk out on the deal And the message that they're giving you Is the same old alibi If you don't quite see their point of view Then they treat you like a spy And the phone rings and you disappear In the middle of the night Can't you see they're on the move Don't know what you're trying to prove But you sit there oh so cool Like they never broke no rules And the cat flies and the crow walks And the ghost dies and the sow talks And they tell us that they'll be good as gold Be...'lieve nothing that you're told Hey brother, where's your soul? Make a move in one direction Try to make some compromise But they greet you with rejection Makin' out you're tellin' lies Then they turn around and tell you Better get down from the sky For the sake of all that's holy Listen good to what I say I can feel them all around me They could be here any day But you act like you don't know me Why d' you look at me that way If there's one thing that is clear We gotta get away from here We've gotta leave this place It's just a hopeless case Ain't no one else to blame We're gonna lose this game Hey brother get off my back I gotta tell you, you're way off the track They got a hatred deep down inside Ain't gonna let them take me alive I'm gonna burn them down, just wait and see Ain't gonna let them walk over me Boy you ain't got no heart and soul And your mind is weak and your blood's runnin' cold You better move, you better hide They're gettin' in, they're gettin' inside If you get caught you better know They're gonna reap, you're gonna sow Don't be a fool, we gotta go Ain't no place safe for us to stay We better move on, we better move on. I never could understand the first part of the Oranges and Lemons poem, I just always understood the 'here comes the chopper, to chop off your head'. It wasn't until Boys S3 Ep7 that I even bothered to look up the poem at all, but I instantly recognized it when I saw the title. I used to listen to this album on repeat when I got the CD, back in the 80s. And now it feels more relevant even today. This whole thing feels more like a pink floyd album then a Supertramp.

It was Rick that wanted to advance - give each album cover a different tone of color so to speak. A Supertramp production needed a good quality sound system. A Roger production just needs a transistor radio.

@@AC3handle They were trying to market a quadrophenia 4 speaker system just prior to that time. The best sound system that money can buy nowadays are full range speakers. They being the industry. In the late sixties to early seventies one could still by mono for mono audio systems. My older brother bought the first King Crimsons album that was recorded in mono. Stereo put people at a concert. Quadrophenic sound surrounded people with the music.
