TBG, in collaboration with Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) with funding from the Darwin Initiative, is implementing Supply and Demand Restoration in Uganda for People and Biodiversity Project promoting a native tree planting campaign.
Promoting the use of native species for ecological restoration and adopted by the Government and NGO project partners creating a strong, long term market for the indigenous tree species. TBG aims to improve biodiversity conservation through native tree planting and provide opportunities for livelihood improvement.
Tooro Botanical Garden (TBG) is an indigenous non-profit making organisation founded in 2001
as a centre of excellence in growing and maintaining living plant collections in Uganda.
TBG seeks to increase the propagation of a diversity of plants, under-take research, training of communities, create conservation awareness and sustainable use of plants within the different parts of the country.
