With 20s hv lipos 🥰 for example tattu rline, or CNHL blackseries. They are made for Drone Racing. You can build a very light, high amp output battery pack for dragracing. They have 150C Rating. With a small 5Ah pack you can pull over 700Amps at 84V 😳 thats 58KW 🏁🏁

I had a Whizzer Sportsman to get to school and work when I was 13. It had a Gates belt too. V Belt that was used as a slip element in a clutch. I carried a spare all the time. I think you anticipated belt carnage because you have so many spares. Not much changes in 64 years. Nice work on the Sur Ron so far. You will have to be careful with the front end. The last thing you want is speed wobble on that little bike.
@boopathi69

Cecil thanks so much for the info I'm getting the BAC 4000 controller gonna order the 72 V battery soon and I got the super moto tires coming along with the gates belt. So thanks for testing thanks for doing all the hard work! Perhaps I can provide you with some data when I get going? Anyway, back in the day, working on a supercharger project for an OEM we were stripping the cogged belt all the time gotta bave really good tension like you said which also affects over all friction but you want to keep the vibration down may be your motor speed is higher and that's where the failure occurred at higher pulley speed? Many supercharged manufactured cars get a nice wide serpentin grooved belt so no cogs but grooves and that really improves the belt life although you may get some slip at launch. If you work with Gates like I think you are, they could really hook you up. Thanks again keep up the good work, as it does get expensive!

All you need to hit 80mph is to have a reduction of weight. Anyone who can optimize the controller unit in conjunction with the 72V battery, the belt drive, rolling resistance (smooth tires), simply be less than 150lbs, and no headwind will kick 80 easily. It’s all physics power to weight ratio at this point if the mechanics are set in place correctly.
@JackCecil
4 жыл бұрын
Twentykixx _ weight isn’t even an issue at this point. I had a 220lb rider take it for a spin and went 77mph. It’s aerodynamics that need help now.
@Twentykixx
4 жыл бұрын
Jack Cecil, so what you’re saying is that this bike will top out @77MPH with no rider, counting the aerodynamics (headwind/tailwind)? Essentially the power to weight ratio is not a factor in the current configuration of the drivetrain? That would mean the battery a has a limiter, and the only way to get around that limitation is scaling the power distribution which you have been doing. If so, then it’s simply a matter of ramp with the proper algorithm, not linear power over trial and error. 😀
