Yeah I know you guys gave the same fish to everybody and took those photos. You only caught about three fish maybe four! Ha just kidding! What a great trip you guys had. I really appreciate the "catch and release" that you guys practice. Very nice.

Absolutely awesome video mate! I am heading to Vilankulos soon and will be taking my tackle for sure. I take it, you guys caught those beauties from one of the islands? Which one if I may ask? Also, if you still remember. What size lures were you using roughly, struggling to find this anywhere? Would be much appreciated, cheers!

Thanks Glad you enjoyed the video! This was filmed on the San Sebastián peninsular near vilanculos we used spoons buck tail jigs and stickbaits. The spoons probably weighed around 2 oz and the jigs probably 1 oz the stickbaits were quite big if I remember correctly. Good luck on your trip.

Thank you mate. Really appreciate that. Hoping to hire a 4x4 and drive there. Hopefully park near the school and walk down. Everywhere else looks quite shallow with a few deeper channels. I will take an shimano 8000 reel hope it will be big enough if anything bites!

My main complaint about fishing videos is the long drone shot, with the awful music. The music here was pretty good. A bit dramatic, but it worked. I only ever went to Mozambique once and I discovered a fossilized homonid footprint in solid rock on a beach. Are any paleao-anthropologists interested?

Hi, great video! My friend has been traveling all along the coast, trying to catch a decent fish. First of all, trying to find some OK gear is a hard job there. Any tips? Secondly, he does not seem to catch any fish, not only because of his gear but also due to the fact that the whole coast consists of shallow sand banks or seaweed area's + encountering big waves. Any tips would be highly appreciated; where could he have more success on finding some gear and finding a fishing spot? Thnx in advance, Sincerely David from the Netherlands

Finding gear in Mozambique will be very difficult, I am not sure on where you would be able to find any as I don't live there, we just occasionally go there on holiday, we bring our gear from home. Possibly you could ask around and maybe there is a decent tackle shop in one of the larger cities. Is your friend in the vilanculos area? He needs to find peninsulas or rocky areas, big waves and estuary mouths are also good. You can use google earth to find such places. Another option is to get the local fishermen to take you out on their boats to the deeper water or out to the islands. Early morning is the best time to fish by far. The most effective lures were spoons and surface plugs. If you have any more specific questions please ask.

Thanks for the fast reply. He has been doing exactly that but is still not productive. Yeah there are some Shops in the bigger cities but they still have only crap. Hes getting desperate in finding a good spot :/

Try the San Sebastián peninsula in vilanculos in the estuary mouth as well as Zonabraza near Xai-Xai I have had luck in those two places before. Or he really needs to get off shore on a boat. Maybe it would be worth making a trip into South Africa to a tackle shop
