The great thing is, the fish doesn't know how much $ you have invested in your tackle. Setup, lures or otherwise. While casting near Kelani river inlet, I have seen anglers using a piece of broom stick covered in reflective tape and laced with two trebles landing massive cudas and once a GT as well. He had an old Daiwa BG60 spinner... vintage stuff but built solid. I too have caught fish on name brand lures like mann's, bomber, braid, yozuri etc to random chinese stuff. Most of the time the chinese stuff need better hooks and you're good to go. And talking of spoons and jigs, even the vintage lead diamond jigs, still pull fish :)

I know what you mean about losing kastmasters. They are my favorite lures and I hate to lose them, especially when you open a new one and lose it after a few cast. LOL So painful. I actually keep a few fake kastmaster just for places that I know has rocks or something that can snag the kastmaster. If I know the place to be safe, I throw the real one. I catch so many fish with kastmasters I don't fish with anything else like 95% of the time.

haha yes me too..i know its a "safe" spot..I always throw the Kastmaster...for any snaggy spots...I use the copies!! but I've been using them for a while now...the copies catch fish too!

@@AnglingAddictssrilanka Yes the copies works just as good. But I love the original kastmasters because it's so pretty. When I'm fishing with kastmasters, it's like driving a nice luxury car. When I fish with the copies, it's like driving a budget car. Both will get me to the places I want to go but in my mind, I am happier with the shinier car. :)

Hi buddy, How is the action and buoyancy when you compare to acme kastmaster? Secondly I have noticed in some of your videos hook was in thin part and in some other videos hook placed in weighted part, what difference it makes? And why you have used soo?
@AnglingAddictssrilanka
Жыл бұрын
hi buddy..so far i cannot tell a big difference between the Kastmaster and the copy..they both catch fish...so i am happy to see that...far cheaper to buy the copies. haha you guys have very good eye sight...the hook is supposed to be on the weighted side..but there are times I've put the hook on the other side (just as experiment) to see how the swimming action is. I've caught fish with the hooks reversed too...but it casts better when the hooks are in the correct orientation :)

I’ve noticed not all fakes are proportional to the real ones, don’t swim the same at all. If it’s a slow day and I’m casting a thousand times I’d rather have a real one on. Although some species will swallow a bottle cap thrown overboard when you discover it in its stomach.
