If you want to get rid of the ammonium out of this shark. There's a simple method cut the head off gut it making sure you hold the head end up wards walk to the water with knife and cut off the tail and use the salt water to wash out from the shit hole at the end of the tail. The ammonium is in the tube between the shit hole and the end off the tail. When you cut the tail off and look at the body end of the tail you'll see 2 holes ether side off the bone. If you wash that tube out properly you will never have trouble with ammonium again If you don't do this procedure and it leaks into the gut on the way home it all you fish will be stuffed by the time you get home An old Fisherman told me when I was 16 years old I'm now 68 and never had a problem since

With those sharks, do you do anything to them after catching ? We catch quite a few 'lemonfish' up here north of Auckland, but they have a very chemical smell, not sure if they have to be bled or anything to make them edible ?

I use two hook ledger rigs on two rods , one with 6/0 or bigger and the other always 4/0 in either kahle or bait holder style hooks . The bait im using on the day usually determines what size I go with .
