1975..tropical storm hits Cameron, La.at 2am. The waves were lined up like corduroy at Surfside and breaking at 8ft. at the end of the jetty. Had to jump off jetty to get into line up. Best waves of my life that day.

How are the waves there? thinking about starting surfing. I live in the Houston area. Also what kind of surfboard is best for Surfside conditions? I see longboards most of the time in this video.

Just like my surf break in Panama City Beach, Fl The good ol' Gulf Of Mexico goes flat fast! Go to Surfline and search There will never be another Ida and see 30 miles from me surf from Hurricane Ida.

Looks pretty clean for Texas. It would actually be a good day if it weren't for that "tidal wonk" it's got on it.
