One added feature that only the CTX Casio has is a very powerful addition called the Phrase Pads. 4 phrase pads allow four additional solo sequences to the 4 variation standard style. This is huge when programming your own patterns and want on the fly sequences such as a bass or synth sequence. ALSO, the Casio is the most powerful pattern sequencer available with up to 16 measure lengths in any time signature and quantize levels including, no quantize.

Very good and informative review. Thanks for making the video. I really like the Korg EK 50 but it only has 61 keys unlike Yamaha has 76 keys. Do you have any recommendations that has EK 50 features and 76 keys and of course around the budget? I appreciate your help. Two more questions: Out of 10, how is the quality of grand piano sound in ew410 compared to ek 50? Does EW410 have piano + pad sound like ek50? If yes, is it as good? Thanks much

It is true that EW410 does not have jack for "normal" microphone. But it does have an AUX INPUT. Any speaker (including keyboard that has on board speakers) with AUX INPUT can support a microphone. Not a normal (dynamic or condenser) microphone, but those cheap blue tooth wireless karaoke microphones are OK as long as they have an AUDIO out port. Their audio output is similar to an MP3 output. I have been using one of these for my EW410 which record keyboard playing and vocal as AUDIO.

One mistake, Korg has been making the MicroArranger up to the last year or so, for $500 it is an incredible deal and one-of-a-kind. I purchased a new one a few years ago, the sound is fantastic ( korg premium sounds from the year 2000). AND the MicroArranger is the only key board in this class to have 5pinMIDI/DIN in and out. So I have connected a weighted 88 key piano to this keyboard via a simple MIDI cable and have the only arranger in the world with a weighted 88.

Good thing Korg has improved the UI from PA-50/Microarranger. Hi Jeremy, I got a question that prolly been asked many many times. I have a 7yrs old daughter with 20+ piano lessons, and me and wife is debating on her first piano choice: a $1K electric or a $3K acoustic. My wife prefers acoustic, while I prefer the electric. My concern's if my daughter is over her hype as I never seen her partice at home, while my wife thinks the 3K acoustic can be sell as 2nd hand even in that case (while electric has no resell value).

Awesome👍job with the keyboard comparison sir! Based on your video, I would be inclined to purchase the Korg EK-50. I have been a user of all 3 manufacturer's instruments for 30 years; in multiple instruments (keys, drum machines, & sequencers). I have also owned many keyboards from all 3 manufacturers on two levels (entry/pro). However, there's one category missing (unless I missed it in this video), and that's 'Sound Editing'. I'm familiar with the sound editing features of Casio because the sound editing features found in the CX5000 are basically the same sound editing features found in the WK series. What about the Korg EK-50? Does it have sound editing features?

Hi Jeremy. I've mentioned this on another of your videos so I'm saying it for future readers of this excellent comparison. The quality and volume of sound depends on amplifier power and even more on speaker design. Also the way the ear hears sound, for a given set of speakers you must double the amplifier power to get a significant increase in volume ─ so to go from say 10 watts to 15 watts is not very significant. Korg wins here because a lot of work has been put into the speaker design which is why it sounds better even though the amplifiers are a bit less powerful.. The speakers have been designed to include side openings that suggest something like ported enclosures. Whatever they've done gives better bass and greater volume than other keyboards with more amplifier watts. In my limited experience, the EK-50 has the best sound without external amps (and even better again with!).

Which one would you recommend for a person like me, with zero experience/knowlegde, who wants to start learning, who will not be doing gigs/gatherings (only playing at home) and who will not be doing any Electronic Music/Groove things? On one hand, I think EK-50 would be better for me, but on the other, there are a couple of things I like about the EW-410... I have the impression that the main grand piano voice (Live Grand) which EW-410 has (not present in E463) could be better than the one in the Korg, and not sure if buying a 76 keys keyboard would be better than buying a 61 keys one. Thanks for your advice.

It's my last question, because after your answer, I will make my buy. Many thanks. JP

Hi Jeremy I know this is a old video but I’m purchasing a keyboard today, I’m 40 years old looking to start getting serious about learning to play the keys but I’m a novice, what keyboard do you recommend I want the best preset voice quality for the money Korg EK 50 U or the Yamaha psr e473? I’m literally going to purchase today

Sir please choose one for me between Korg ek50in vs Roland E09IN vs Roland BK-3 vs Casio 9000in vs Yamaha i500. I am from India. I am an absolute beginner and do want to have the best tonal quality. The next big thing for me is the most number of useful external interfaces and build quality. Next comes most features and better specs. Thank you.

Excellent, review. Still with very much respect I have tried the Yamaha psr e 410 and I really liked. One thing I see is that some of the points go for like, the weight or inputs. The option of using a mike directly. At the end you clarified some of this with your opinion. I am a student of piano. I have a Casio Privia PX 350 that's a small furniture Piano. I am looking for a portable option not to expensive. It favors me the 76 keys. Best sound timbres and best styles. You still think the Yamaha would be a best option? And would like to know your opinion between the Yamaha psr ew 410 and the Casio WK7600. I really liked your way of making the review.

Sorry for my english is not so good, but I'm trying to write what I want to say. :-) Not long ago, in your videos, you are very fond of the Yamaha keyboards. Remember? This is the video here that results in a totally disastrous result based on data that does not satisfy those who like to play and hear music, but rather those who are technically maniacs. I can not believe Yamaha's half is as good as the rest! Is it a joke? Live "compare specification"? Why? Yamaha is a sensation and feeling, Casio is a gadget, Korg is though unique and good, but it just runs after it Yamaha and Roland, it has always been so and it will. Because making the musical instruments is art and passion, not numbers, plugs, buttons, software, etc.!

That is why this video is about specs. In my video, I gave Yamaha points for Styles & Voices. So if that's important to a user, then that is what they should buy. To me a brand doesn't matter. Nokia was once king of phones. Blackberry was king of smartphones. Now? One must innovate if they want to stay ahead. Thanks for watching buddy.

Jeremy I wish you would've mentioned that the Yamaha EW-410 has no Bass Inversion feature, while the EK-50 does, although I'm not sure about the Casio.

Hi Jeremy. What would you recommend for a non player who is building a home studio. The board will usually be played by others who are actually very good. Thinking about a new mid price arranger or a used pro unit like a korg triton or kurzweil k2000. The board will be plugged directly into a mixer and will also be used to control a emu proteus 1.

Hi Jeremy ! Did you delete some videos from your channel ? I can't find again the video where you have played each style of the PSR-E463, only by applying chords with intro style. This was the video where you have asked people to recognize the real song which has inspired each style. Do you remember .?

+Ben Norton Zzsounds is where I am getting it from. I want the organ sliders and batteries. I would have gotten the Casio CTX 5000 but I must have batteries. I get the microphone USB and the midi songs I can down load from Casio.

Yamaha has has a built-in audio interface which is super powerful to record your audio directly into a DAW. Does the CTX has this?
