Graveyard Point agates are famous for the stunning plumes and patterns that can be found in the seams - but I never imagined something like this! Jim and I visited Graveyard Point in Oregon, accompanied by our friend and guide Julie. We explored an area that used to be an agate mine, but has since been abandoned, leaving piles of spoils behind. The traditional agate is thick and plumey, but the pieces we hauled out had something even more special - incredible blues and greens, cemented in matrices of orange and brown. I cut some of the pieces when I got home, and was amazed by the colors and patterns that I found inside the rocks. It just goes to show you - there are SO MANY beautiful rocks!
