The Indian car market is booming, and the excitement of a brand-new car can be reduced by
the car waiting period. This video presents the current waiting period scenario for some of
the top car manufacturers and their popular models in India.
Maruti Suzuki
Most Maruti Suzuki models have a waiting period of just 2 weeks. However, the recently
launched Invicto can see waiting times stretch to 4-7 weeks, depending on the variant.
Similarly, the Vitara boasts a wait time of under 3 weeks, but if you have a specific colour or
the top-spec Brezza variant in mind, be prepared to wait 6-7 weeks.
Tata Motors
If you are eyeing a Tata SUV or EV, you're not alone. Tata Motors is experiencing high
demand, with an average monthly production of 45,000 units. Generally, expect a waiting
period of 3-5 weeks for most Tata cars. However, some variants can take as long as 10-12
weeks to arrive.
Hyundai
Hyundai Motor India produces 820,000 units annually. The waiting period for most popular
models, like the Exter car, is manageable at two weeks.
Mahindra
Mahindra's SUVs are popular, but patience is key. The waiting period for most Mahindra
SUVs can range from 18 to 22 weeks. Top-spec manual variants might take 11 to 13 weeks,
while automatics take 7 to 9 weeks.
The iconic Mahindra Thar has a waiting period of 9-11 weeks for most variants. But be
prepared to wait significantly longer, like 43-45 weeks, for the hardtop diesel rear-wheel-
drive version. The hardtop petrol Thar also comes with a wait time of 20-22 weeks. If your
eyes are set on the Scorpio, expect a waiting period of 18-20 weeks. Thus, the Mahindra Car
waiting period is tentatively long.
Kia
Kia India offers a good balance between demand and production, with a waiting period of 6-
8 weeks for most models.
Toyota
While most standard Toyota models have a waiting period of around a month, the story
differs for hybrids. The hybrid version of the Hyryder can see waiting times stretch to 3-4
months, while the mild hybrid variant might take 8-9 months. If you're looking for the CNG
variant, be prepared to wait 6-8 months.
Other Manufacturers
Honda Cars India offers a minimum waiting period of under 2 weeks for popular models like
the City and Amaze. Nissan and Renault models like the Magnite and Kiger typically have a
wait time of less than a week.
Skoda and Volkswagen boast some of the shortest waiting times for SUVs, under a week.
But the Slavia and Virtus models are exceptions due to high demand with waiting periods
ranging from 2-8 weeks.
MG Motor India offers a waiting period of under 3 weeks for most common models, while
the Hector and Gloster can take 6-7 weeks.
Jeep and Citroen models generally have a waiting period of around 55-60 days, with the
Compass being the fastest-selling model with a wait time of up to 30 days.
We hope this video helped you navigate the waiting game in the Indian car market. Happy
car shopping!
