His ashes are buried next to his owner that he loved so much and waited 9 years for. They erected a statue of him in Shibiya Station in Japan. A symbol of unending loyalty.

This was the very first film to make me cry, never cried before because of a film, but this one had me sobbing and even now, years later and this time Not even seeing the hole film, I'm still sobbing. You right, dogs and animals in general represent something so pure and innocents🐶

if you haven’t already, don’t watch a dogs journey , a dogs purpose or a dogs way home, your eyes will be filled with tears more than smiles

Unfortunately, for me, those dog movies doesn't really compare to this one. For me, my top 3 dog movies are 1st place - Hachi: A Dog's Tale 2nd place - The Art of Racing in the Rain 3rd place - Arthur the King That's just for me. Have a nice day. 🐶🐕🐩🐺❤❤❤❤

That last scene is heartbreaking the symbol of the light is basically him dying that he knew it was time to go so he walked that last time to the station, and he was going into the light as signal as he was dying.

I barely managed to get through this movie the first time through without sobbing and watching you get through this broke my heart all over again, especially knowing it was a retelling of the real Hachiko

Like the man said it's got to be a purpose why the dog will fetch. And he knew what was wrong with him. he could smell it. Dogs have a better sense on things than us humans before we know things it's too late to do anything about it. The one thing that I love about dogs Is there pure and loyal but there not driven by greed or hate like humans. They don't act human they are loyal and good companions. And will be there for you. As long as you treat them good, they will be good back to you. I love how smart they are too how to train to for recuse and helping out others.

I hope Hachiko can be happy with the Professor, but it makes me even sadder because this actually happens in the real story

If you want another heartfelt dog movie, I recommend Disneys "Togo". It's based on the 1925 serum run to Nome.

I watched this movie many years ago! I was sure that I couldn't watch it ever again, until today! The thing that broke me most about the movie, was that he didn't understand that the owner was dead! If someone could have made him understand, he wouldn't have to torture himself for 9 years! 😢🥺 But I read something today, from akita owners, that made me happy! They think that he was going to the train station to meet his owner first. But then continued because of the routine, pets and treats he was getting! 🥰
