They look good Lloyd. Looking for a second pair to rotate with my Agility Peak 5, like the sound of the slightly bigger toe box. What would be your fav between these and the NB Hierro V8 you recently reviewed? Thanks Si

Love the regular long sky 2 it's my go to trail and fell racer, but the upper is not very durable. If the upper is sorted on the matryx version I'll definitely be getting a pair. Great review!

Cheers Darrel, glad you enjoyed the video. I have heard reports of poor durability on the regular LONGSKY 🤔 MATRYX is a pretty durable fabric and I’ve never had any issues with it so durability should be good 👍

Any other trail running shoes with minimal drop, and a low stack height that you would recommend?

Just bought a pair of these. Havent ran in them yet. They feel nice on foot although i can feel thd arch a bit more than i like, hoping it wont bother me on 1st run. Hoping i will just forget about it once i get going. Really hoping they work as they realky tick all the boxes, nice upper. Med stack height with 4mm drop and a decent agressive lug.

Lots of changes from the first version. Same 5mm lugs in the vibram, totally different upper, previous version had booty fit. Pretty sure that the stack height was more on the first version as well, I want to say 6mm drop from memory. Nice video mate.

Love the low weight of these shoes. A little bit more toe room sounds very promising, I've stayed away from Merrell due to their reputation for narrow/cramped shoes. I will have to find a pair to try on!

I recently bought the Brooks Catamount 3, and I feel a bit disappointed about these shoes. The cushioning is really stiff and my feet are a bit floating in them. Can we compare them with the Merrell long sky matrix, or there is no comparison?

It’s not designed to deliver a lot of energy return, it’s all about ground feel and connection on the trails! That doesn’t make it useless, some runners don’t want a deeply cushioned midsole on their trail running shoes 👍

Its not necessarily about ground feeling or control. Ihave the MTL long sky 2 and everything is very good and nice to run in a marathon and ultra, too, but when it comes to peak up the pace, then no chance to to recover from the climbing time on a straight road, then they doesn't help you at all... Just my Humble recreational runnner opinion..🙏🏼

@@Acconda yes I have both. I love the fit and feel of the Long Sky. Very very agile, but also really good on smoother terrain relative to the lug depth. Which again I feel makes this a more versatile shoe than the Kjerag. The Long Sky is a little more firm and a 4mm drop, which I prefer. The Kjerag is lighter, but the medial post is a little too high for me, where I can really feel it in the arch. And the outsole it sticky but lugs are very shallow, where as the Long Sky outsole is just fantastic. Hope that helps.

@@Run4Adventure thanks so much for the response, really appreciate it. I tried on the agility peak 5 and the speedcross 6 and I would love something in between those two. Something with more cushion than speed cross as I do worry they will be too firm, but also with something like the sole of the speedcross lugs. The Long sky 2 does look like what I am after. I live in Uk near the chase and in the autumn it’s very muddy as you know, but also in the summer it’s a bit more compact. I will only be doing 5k to 10K runs. Thanks you kindly
