I've used my Bobcat in all weather conditions over the past three years. You're right about it not being aerodynamic. If the wind changes you end up wth the outer wall convexing in and robbing what little space you have. I always use delta pegs but the design of the tent is what it is. The upsides are that you can sit up, it's very waterproof and pitches outer first.
@AntSurviveTheNight

Hi James, good stuff mate, a veteran then pal. Yeah you have to be careful of how you pitch if it's windy. Having the guy rope that's on the back of the tent did help on this camp, it just kept it off mist of the night and I was glad the wind mainly stayed on the side of the tent thankfully. I was more than happy with how it performed. Yeah it's fab to be able to fully sit up in it. I call it the half Cloud Peak haha. Thanks mate, Ant 👍

That may have been the same night my mate was out camping at Grisedale tarn when he was out with a mate, spent a few hours drinking in his mates tent and when he went back to his own tent, it was completely flat, horrendous wind and torrential rain. Looked a real rough night and how on earth can you plan a pitch when the end keeps changing, must have been a mare and you sure earned that hot chicken dinner. Good tip about uncoupling your stove and getting 4 hours sleep would be the norm for me, so I would be happy. Canny test for your tent mind, as well as you, cheers Alan

Hello Jeanette, thank you very much for having a watch and for your comment. You will love this tent that's for certain. With regards to the pole. What I do is push it through the material, pop it into one of the eye holes then over to the other side and arch the pole over so that your first side holds on the ground while you pop in the other side of the pole, hope that makes sense? It's a case of putting pressure on to the pole and bending it so it pop's in easy. Yeah test it out on a playing field or back garden if you are able to. Thanks again and hope this helps. Superb video Ant!👍 But before you take the Bobcat out again do this modification which easily adds two extra guy lines at the rear: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0mOsm52lb6Whd6Q The author has had the mod on his tent for around 18 months and still going strong. I also put some stick on velcro on the inner, by the centre guy, to keep the inner from sagging. Although it reduces the air gap so far that has not been a problem.
