#1. I watch Donny's vids for the Paleo Neolithic goodness. There is something about man's history that leaves me mesmerized. #2. I saw him on the Bonfire and was like "holy crap! My favorite flint knapper is an absolute badass!" #3. Searched for more interviews with him and ended up here. And I will watch this whole episode again. #4. Liked/subscribed.

What a treat it would be to see Donny and Matt Graham team up to do a Dual Survival series together in different environments. Both seem like they would be great mentors for primitive survival. It is a lost skill that far too many men and women have lost. What's the most mind blowing about it is that the wide scale loss of those skills only happened over the last century.

2:04:04 the "Third-Man" phenomenon, I once heard a story about someone getting lost at sea and then suddenly he felt like he was no longer alone, he said he never could see him but he always "knew there was a man there" who was out of his field of view. The feeling got so intense that he would actually leave the cabin periodically at night so that this "man" and himself could take turns sleeping.

Oh man. I watch a lot of podcast especially since deciding to pay a lot more attention to politics and culture since 911. I spent a lot of years in the outdoors for enjoyment. Have always worked outdoors in the many different trades I've been in. This is the first time catching one of your podcasts and my first time ever hearing about Donny Dust. As this interview progressed I quickly felt a connection Donny and how he views nature and the human spirit. Maybe it's a generational thing seeing we are close to the same age. Maybe it's because we are both born in October lol.. Regardless, when he started talking about his heart attack at 38 it hit me like a truck and how he decided to completely immerse himself back in nature to heal. I honestly have been breaking my ass since before I was even a teenager. Playing sports, first job at 12, Joined Volunteer Fire Dept. at 12. Pretty much every job I have done was hard labor skilled trades from construction of all types, Masonry, Rock Picking in Montana, Mechanics, the last 20 years in the Tree Service industry. The last 6 months has come in hard and it's like my body is coming apart all at once. Spine, Neck, shoulders, are in rough shape, Told I had pre stroke symptoms, and a month ago told I have stomach ulcers. The past week I have been experiencing strange feelings in my chest on the left side. Like little twinges and sometime a sharp quick stabbing pain. I thought it might be reflux tied with my ulcers but last night I also has an experience where my jaw felt like it does when you eat something really really tart and or sour and it tightens up and aches. I think coming across this video and Donny's story is a sign and warning I better listen to and stop being so stubborn and stoic thinking I'm going to just muscle my way through this, but accept that I am going to have to seek help and start going through the process of starting on a new path for my sake and for my family. Thanks for sharing this.

Like he said you never want to run into a moose. I was hiking uphill with my dog once and realized I was on the trail of a cow with her calf and I've never turned around faster than that. They hate dogs from trying to protect their young from wolves and they will charge and try to kick you to death without question. Only thing I can imagine that's worse is a Grizzly. And I've run into a Black bear with cubs more than once. It wasn't the best situation but nothing like being around a Moose. It's like a 1000lb deer that will kill you at the wrong time of year
