Episode: Sierra Leone 🇸🇱
Yo yo yo wassup guys ? Welcome to another fascinating country on my West African journey. I'm sure many of you haven't heard of this beautiful hidden country. Anyway, today I would like to take the time to introduce you to Sierra Leone.
There are approximately 8,6 million people living in the entire country. English and Creole are the official languages in Sierra Leone .
Freetown, the capital city of the country, is such a unique place on earth. In some ways, it reminds me of Gap Haitien in Haïti.
Sierra Leone's civil war lasted for 11 years in the 90s due to the abundance of diamonds in the north of the country.
The local currency is known as Leones.
Even though I couldn't speak Creole, I found people to be helpful and welcoming . The energy of the country was on a different level. People love listening to music on the streets.
I would definitely recommend visiting Sierra Leone, one of my favorite countries on my African journey so far.
Guess what, I forgot to take a decent picture of myself, so I am going to start with a photo dump.
It's 5:23 in the morning, I still haven't slept and I have so much work to catch up on. Anyway ✌🏾
