I think intamicy in relation ship isn’t necessary due to it just being the friend ship and closeness rather it is based on your feeling and attitudes to the person and what you get in return

I mean no ones entitled to intimacy, so if one person doesn't want to give it even out of spite it's their right to withhold it. Does it make them a scummy person? Absolutely, but they're perfectly entitled to whether or not they want to give it.

Honestly, intimacy is a really tricky thing to place in relationships because everyone treats it differently both between the individuals involved and themselves. Like, my boyfriend is on the ace spectrum and he doesn't care for intimacy pretty much at all, so it's never brought up as anything other than a passing comment (therefore never used in a weaponising way, because neither of us would weaponise something that makes him uncomfortable. In my opinion, it's not right to weaponise intimacy BUT for some relationships its not even a thing, because physical intimacy isn't even on the table at all and both parties are already comfortable with that fact. I reread this and my point isn't really coming across with how I phrased it, but I hope you can kinda get it lol

I think intamicy is not fine in a relationship as it is just a matter of friendship and that if it is used in a bad way ( which is highly common) it causes negative things to happen which isn’t pleasant in a relationship as the main purpose is to procreate or possible just attraction to them

Yes and no, because tbh the role of intimacy in a relationship changes depending on those involved. For some people physical intimacy is very tied to the emotional aspects, yet for others it's a purely separate thing that doesn't correlate to emotional intimacy at all. As such, whilst it shouldn't be used as a tool to spite or deliberately harm your partner (because why be in a relationship when your first instinct is to sanction someone for their mistakes or whatever, rather than talking through them???), if it's considered a minor part of the relationship (like idk refusing to put down the toilet lid when you're done or something) then I can see it make more sense.

I get what she is saying. As a counter to the circumstance, if she sees that it's not going to put you out in any way and it's something you could do and you say no, it seems like you don't prioritize them in your life. Whereas you're saying, what if she doesn't know my circumstance as much as she thinks she does. But honestly, good communication is the clear solution to this. I definitely see what she means tho

I'd have to say withholding intimacy in a relationship is bad off rip. Because that means that it kind of is contractual even if it's not financial. Having the willingness to even engage to be something that is worked for kind of just causes it to become lackluster, as it makes you feel less like the object of their affection compared to your ability to provide in the given moment. That lightswitch behavior just doesn't end well imo. Still tho, I see what the woman was tryna say, but I just think she said it in a way that was hard to understand at first glimpse.

I don't really understand what question you're asking, but from what I understand isn't the answer obviously yes? If your partner doesn't want to take the relationship further, it's your responsibility to make sure they aren't uncomfortable by pushing boundaries they're not ready for. In the end, communication from both on what each person is expecting from the relationship is important for emotional and physical intimacy. Withholding intimacy out of spite is a completely different matter, in which case I honestly feel the person doing so should reevaluate what they're specifically looking for in the relationship. If they want it more for themselves or because they genuinely want the other person to be happy. Again, not really sure this is what you mean by the question though? I feel like the answer is obvious when it comes down to consent.

Hm, I'd say yeah it's fine. A relationship is supposed to go both ways and part of that is understanding each person's boundaries. If one person doesn't want something or wants to take things slow, it's important nothing is forced. Edit: as some others have said though it should all be within reason. Withholding intimacy because you feel like you werent given what you're entitled to is kinda messed up, especially if the reason the other person said no was because they were feeling uncomfortable and not because they wanted to harm the relationship. Communication in this instance is extremely important so both parties know what they want. Get what she's saying tho, could be phrased better.
