"I saw (former Bosnian Serb commander Ratko) Mladic personally, I stood in the centre of the gym facing the door and I saw him. I saw him when he arrived, when he mingled with the soldiers, spoke with them. The trucks arrived about five or 10 minutes after he had left. They told us to get out and that they would take us to Batkovici prison camp. But they were taking us to our deaths. To a field some 200 metres (655 feet) away from here. That is the camp where they took us to execute us."

"I am here for the first time since I survived the execution. This is my first time here and it is hard. I cannot cry, but I feel like I have a lump in my throat because I know what happened here, how many people, how much blood has been soaked up by this soil. The soil here is soaked with blood. I should have been killed here too; my cousin and many of my friends were killed here."

"I cannot wait for the trial to begin, to see Mladic, to look him in the eye, to see what kind of a man he is, what kind of an animal could have killed so many innocent people. This land is soaked with blood thanks to him, he did that, he ordered it to be done. I want to see him in The Hague, to tell him the truth. There can be no lying, the truth is that he did it. A criminal, a monster, what is he? What kind of a heart has he? He has no heart. What he did, only he and Hitler have done that, nobody else."
