Just found out my boy has two swollen suspensories with unknown cause and we just have to treat with shockwave therapy and handwalking, that it. this explains why he has been laying down every night and unable to get himself up in the morning, though. He is y first horse and my only horse, we have spent 16k in vet bills in 6 months and just now found out what was wrong (sort of). I just pray to god every night that he will be back to the way he was when I bought him and live a happy life

Great info and diagrams! Why did i not get this clear info from my vet?. We are doing shock therapy at the moment but he should have been on stall rest for the last couple of months! I am already hand walking and am told i can tack walk. Ugh! Thankyou! Thankyou !

Thank you so so much for sharing this!!! I just discovered that my horse has a partial tear in the suspensory ligament, at the top, of the left hind. Your explanations are awesome. Indeed, my main issue is to control his energy. He is a 13yo Stallion and we do just basic dressage. I guess he is weak as i am not doing yet collection or things which can be harmful for his body. Crossing fingers as I love him and hopefully he will recover stronger then before with this resting time :) Thank you again for sharing!!!

I just had a pre-purchase exam with a horse with indicators of the hind suspension issue(s). This was a great video to watch so I feel like I made the right choice to pass on her. It was hard though.

Hey Judy mine also has scar tissue & he is on the 2nd set of shock therapy treatments. 22yrs going on 12! This is so informative, i wish stall rest was part of the program! Ugh! I am considering equitape for support.

Going thru this now. Because the injury was not detached soon enough there is scar tissue and surgery is recommended. My horse is a young 24. Not sure I want him to go thru surgery with everything I have been reading. Still researching before I make my decision. He is my only horse and would love to continue to ride but I want him to be comfortable. Thanks for sharing.

This was a great presentation! Very informational! My blue roan hurt his back leg and he has been on rest for about 2 years. With very light exercise. I don’t k is If he will ever be 100%, but we just take it one day at a time. I am definitely going to check out the shockwave therapy and I hope that maybe that could help him alittle bit! 💙

My dressage horse recently injured his hind leg too. It's been going on for months I think, he just lost all impulsion and we had his hocks injected since that's what the vet thought it was, and gave him some time off. I brought him back into work a month ago and he was doing great and then he slowed down again, and a few days ago he came up totally lame on his right hind and today it's swollen and hot to the touch. :( Vet is coming out in a few days and I'm so stressed and worried

What do you know about a horse that was born with loose suspensory but has never shown lameness?
