Still have mine for over 7 years. Don't dive often except when on vacation and opportunity presents itself. Still works but had to replace the battery! Great computer for recreational divers.

I agree. I replaced the battery about once per year but I dive nearly every day.

Got one for $60. Even though Shearwater looks tempting, especially with their Peregine. It's good to know that scuba stuff isn't built to be replaced.

I agree, the Peregrine definitely shakes up the market a bit. Shearwater and Suunto are definitely both built to last and one can only respect that.

My wife and I both dive the precedessor, Suunto Vyper, for precisely the same reason. It's absolutely indestructible, you can just throw it in the bag along with weight belt, fins and everything, won't matter, it has worked for probably 20 years or so. I think the Vyper even has (somewhat weak) lighting if I'm not mistaken. Also, the display cover that you removed, it is replaceable with a fresh one. Just replace it whenever you swap batteries, it's inexpensive.

Mine finally died shortly after I recorded that video but it doesn't really change my opinion on it. Solid piece of engineering!

my zoop is 5 years old, only had to replace the battery once! I don't dive that often, but it is still crazy. I bought an USB cable on eBay, so I am able to download dive data to my Suunto movescount account.

Question :when its time to Change the battery is it a must to Change the O ring in Side every time , or not? Sunto has a replacable kit For that. Do i have to Change it all at one?
@DiveSAGA
Жыл бұрын
Definitely do what Suunto recommends but if the O-ring looks to be in good shape, just lubricate it and reuse it.

Sorry 2 of my Suunto Zoop's have failed and in both cases the depth sensor has failed (2 years - max 40 dives ). Very disappointing as Suunto had very bad policy on replacement.
