wd-40 is useless thing in terms of lubricating, it evaporates and leaves nothing. motor oil is one you wanna use for cables. Yes, it's thicker and not pressurized, so what I do in this regard - using electric tape, form kind of filler around the cable's end, fill it with the oil and leave it overnight. Next morning I see the oil leaking from the other end which is good.

Thanks a lot for this video! I'm from Russia and i've bought this motorcycle from Copart, but it's in a good condition and the mileage is only 2900. Now I'm doing the maintenance of the bike. Watching your video and it helps me a lot!

Hi James, Some people don't get sound and some do. I don't know why. Do my other videos have sound? Too long and boring? I have been thinking of not making any more videos. Time will tell. Thank you for your comment.

Thanks Norman for your videos. I just helped a friend buying the 2008 fuel injected C50. I changed the oil and tue final gear oil. Unfortunately the throttle tube was so brittle for some reason and at turned into plastic powder while we were adjusting the cables. Are these tubes standard? They asked for 55$ for the OEM which is just a plastic cylinder and we can't justify it.

I am not sure about the standard part but OEM parts are the way to go. If a part was say hundreds of dollars I would try looking on E-Bay for a used part. Being $55 dollars I would go with it. Norman.

Poor Lois, but such a good sport. Good luck with the brain swap, there's a lot riding on it. Fingers crossed that virus passes you all by without stopping. Here in the UK we have been asked to stay home for 12 weeks.

@2001Himax Hi! I have a question on fixing my boulevard. Might be on the wrong video but I don't know how to direct message on here. I was riding with some friends and in 3rd gear through mild traffic around 40mph or so, my bike decided to disengage and it felt like a full engine break. I was giving it some throttle and could hear the engine reving up and down (meanwhile hearing the engine break sound we all know) I was not covering the clutch and it engaged back in and took off. This happened 2 more times and I'm trying to figure out if its the clutch. This happened last week or so and I have not rode it since Its an 06 C50T with 42k on it. Thank you! Hope to hear back.

6:40 mark. How do you loosen the play of the cable? I can't seem to get enough slack to put the cable in the hole
@2001himax

Hi Raymond, Everywhere along both cables have to be adjusted inward and both have to be in place to go into the hole at the top. It's tough to go in but it will go in. Work slowly and make sure both are in place. After both are in then adjust it so there is a small amount of play on both cables. Hope this helps. Norman.

Hi Mike, I didn't get an e-mail with your question. Just saw it. I got the shields from e-bay. I looked but can't find who the seller was. Norman
Hi Audric, You ask how I removed the switch? You mean the housing that holds the throttle cables? There are I think three screws up under it you have to remove. Norman.
