Great build. Glad you did a carb swap. Dr200 has a really oversized cv carb originally. Switching to vm26-606 or 24-32mm PWK transforms this bike completly in terms of performance.

Sounds like I made the right choice! Thanks

@@ozarkgarage definitly. You could put on a cheap exhaust as well. There is some restrictions in the original one. From there remove the airbox lid or put on a podfilter with some water resistant bag over it and the Bike is completly free of any restrictions. Going down to a 14 or 13t front sprocket will make it more fun as well.

@@Rocketman0407 I do worry about water if I get rid of the stock airbox. The muffler on the bike has already been gutted by a previous owner, not sure how much I would gain with a DG exhaust, other than probably better sound.

@@ozarkgarage ok, then there is no point going to a DG exhaust. If you drive in very heavy rain the pod could be a problem. You could get like a 45 degree intake tube. Cut it to the correct lenght then install it so the pod ends up under your seat. Then put on a filterwears prefilter for added protection.

Which Blaster throttle cable? (Motion Pro part number). I see some cables are for TORS and some bypass that.
@ozarkgarage

The throttle was Motion Pro P/N 01-2812. The cable was a generic 4.5" travel Mikuni VM22 throttle cable, 39" long from ebay.

What is your jaltitude and jetting on the vm26?
@ozarkgarage
2 ай бұрын
I think I ended up with a 17.5 pilot jet and a 185 main, tuned with a wideband o2 sensor setup. Same hill test as in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/ppuO2aFjiphnZXo Altitude is 800ft MSL or so, and never changed the jetting when I took the bike to Colorado. It started and ran just fine at over 12,000 ft (Cumberland Pass).

Should have used the a 1986-88 TM-28 side slide carb! Way better than the mediocre BST-31 diaphragm carb on the later Dr-200.

That BST-31 is a piece of junk. He did get in a VM 26-606 wich is a pretty good alternative though. The TM28 pumper is of course the best for this bike, but its like 300 $ new and rarely sold used. They sell it on some scooter website. I think going for a PWK carburator is a good middleground. Original OKO is good and costs 100 usd or so. The VM26 he used is a close second. There is also the Nibbi 32mm that works good if you want maximum top end power.
