Hey, I’ve just pulled the head of my 1982 GN250 to investigate low compression. I’ve done the valves and will be putting it back together when the gaskets arrive this week. Your videos will be a great help. Cheers

did you use your original cylinder head and valves etc. from the 250 set up ? I put a new head gasket on my GZ 250 and was considering doing this .I found the "big bore" kit but no matter how I tried I couldn't find info on the cylinder head conundrum .

Yes I just stripped it down, put in new valve stem oil seals, lapped the valves reassembled and it worked fine. Thanks for your interest and stay safe.

Im surprised you didnt have to increase the carb. jet sizes. I had heard people online did to prevent going lean fuel/air mixture. Since its a larger bore would need a little more fuel. Anyhow Im excited watching even though this video is at least a year old.

A cylinder and bore need to be engineered to fit with the crank shaft and valve clearances. It would be very difficult.

Mark, was it really that easy to drop the 300 piston barrel into the block? No machining needed? I got a 300 kit and am having the devil's time getting the barrel to slip in.

Yes it was a direct fit with no work required, other than being careful putting the piston and rings in the barrel

I would really like to pick your brain about the upgrade. Thanks to your series, it only took me two hours for engine removal, two for the tear down, and another three spent getting my mating surfaces as clean as I wanted.

gn250 comes in 2 power variants, one was 17HP and second one over 20. Do you know where is difference? Is there any way to unlock this 17hp version?

Did your kit have a directional arrow? Mine has been fitted with the arrow facing back but usually that is supposed to indicate forward to on the engine
