I sold my Ducati v4s to buy a liter bike that’s perfect for street riding. I bought a gsxr1000r. And I don’t regret it. In my opinion this is the best street liter bike. I have never been a track rider and don’t think so will ever be one. In terms of comfort, the gixxer is like Fendi Casa and Ducati is ikea.

Good video. I have the gsxr1000r l8 and a Yamaha mt10. I honestly think there is something special with the r1/mt10 plateforme. It is really engaging and emotional. Something I do not have with the gsxr. To feel this emotion, I need to go to really high rpm. Thing I can not do often here in Bangkok. I understand your comment on the r1, but the r1 really has something special you would have noticed if you drove one with exhaust and tune. If you can not stand the position with the r1, you would have loved the mt10. It is also a beast on track. I kind of regret buying the gsxr to be honest… even if it is a great bike. But the emotions is the most important factor to my point of view. And you I fortunately did not compare it. So to you guys, do not be shy … go test the bikes before to commit to buy. And compare it to the competition. Be sure you have great emotions with it

Thank you for the fantastic review! I am riding a Honda CBR500R at the moment. I wanted something not too crazy and don't break my bank on insurance and purchase the bike so I decided to go for Honda CBR500R.. It is a lovely machine but boy I wish I had a little bit more power... My next bike hopefully will be Suzuki GSXR750 as I think it is perfect balance for me!! But again thank you for a fantastic video. Subscried! and looking forward to see more of your videos. 👏👏

I definitely think going from the xsr900 to a 600, would be disappointing. I may do the same once my xsr900 is all paid off. My next bike may be the zx10r, I know I want cruise control for sure.

I’ve replaced my Xsr900 with the GSX-S 2016. What an improvement, weighty but leans more reassuringly. Sounds awesome. Cheap to maintain. Unfortunately the new one with 19l tank will not be sold in Singapore. So my next option would be Gsx-s or hayabusa. I’m leaning towards the Busa cos of cruise control . I’ve got a year to decide. But before that,please God , end this Pandemic 🙏🏼

looking at this bike as well, one question. is it worth it to pay extra for the R model, or is the regular gsxr sufficient. I am mostly a street rider, with 1 or 2 track days a season. Thanks.
@SimonTheSquid
2 жыл бұрын
For me the R model was worth it mainly for the quickshifter and better suspension since I do a lot of track riding. However I think the newer non r models may have the quickshifter installed by default now and it is possible to retrofit one onto older non r models. The suspension on the R is great however for general street riding with a couple of trackdays the non R model will be just fine. Might be worth picking up a used one that already has the quickshifter fitted. They are cracking bikes!

@@SimonTheSquid I think it was a good choice. I’ve had a new fireblade and found it uncomfortable. The r1 is very tiny and the zx10r makes a lot of power up very high in the revs which means it’s not wonderful on the road. I rode my friends and it’s almost as comfortable as the s1000rr and makes a lot of power under 10k due to the variable valve setup. It’s also very reasonably priced. Was curious to hear what you thought now as the only downside I’ve heard is Suzuki build quality isn’t great. I know my k5 back in the day needed a lot of love and attention.

There are some after market options. Lamb Chops did a video about one of them: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rKSkmWulsKaHa4o It would be nice to have it from factory though I agree. Full on sports bikes have tended to lag behind the touring bikes when it comes to cruise control. Bmw was one of the first and a lot of others are following suite now. I expect we'll see it if suzuki does another upgrade to the model. They have it on the new model hayabusa.

Sad XSR noises How much smoother the inline 4 is over XSR's inline 3? Is it night and day difference, or 'just a bit smoother' Because XSR vibrates a fair bit at high rpm
@SimonTheSquid
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bohdan! Glad you haven't disappeared due to the GSXR content :). Still miss the xsr! It's a good question. When it comes to smoothness it's more about power delivery than about vibrations. The inline 4 has high frequency vibrations through the bars and engine. More so than the xsr did. However the way the power rolls on is definitely smoother. I wouldn't say massively so but noticeable! The xsr feels a bit rowdy when you twist the throttle (which is fun!). The GSXR builds quickly and smoothly and doesn't stop until you poop your pants at how fast everything is rushing at you. You then look down and realise you're going about twice as fast as you think you are! So it's sort of a different sort of smoothness. The gsxr feels smooth and planted at 150 mph while the XSR feels like you're in the middle of a tornado at about 100 lol. Which is what makes the xsr a ton of fun on the street, and the gsxr an awesome track weapon.

Cheers re the phone mount . Bike wise. Yes, if you did a multi criteria analysis on a bike - giving a weighting to performance - looks - fun factor etc etc. I’d probably get a Triumph Scrambler or another Street RS. But as you say. Dream. It’s just that nagging. Can you have fun on a 1000 on the road without going crazy speeds…
@SimonTheSquid

I think if I wasn't doing at least some track days with it I'd struggle. 1st gear goes to 99mph on it so you really can't properly open it up legally on the street. I get to do my chill time on the street and going full out on the track. The bike does chill quite nicely but you'll probably have more fun on the street triple as its more usable power.
