I rode mine daily for years. They work great for general transportation. They have plenty of torque right off idle, the wide-ratio transmission has a lower first gear than an open class supersport, the engine is very docile, they get good fuel mileage, they're smooth, and even comfortable two-up.

@MototalkUSA Thanks. There's little odds and ends that I'm remembering, now that you've got me thinking on this subject. The Hayabusa hasn't changed a lot in 25 years. GSX-R foot pegs from that era are a straight swap for the rubber-covered monstrosities the Hayabusa comes with. They allow much better feel for what the rear tire is doing, as well as offering better cornering clearance. I went one step further and ground down the peg feeler boss on the bottom of the outer tip on each one, flush with the angled contour of the rest of the tip. I think I also clearanced the side stand pivot to fold tighter, ground the sidestand tip where it sticks out, and shortened the tip of the rear brake lever- I don't use the rear brake while in motion. With the giant stock exhaust cans out of the way, the cornering clearance was only limited by the fairing "bulge" on the right and the stator cover on the left.

Rode mine as my main commuter for years. Has over 70K miles on it. Sometimes I got caught in a surprise storm so bad I was talking to my bike telling it to get me home, and this bike did that every time. Not a good bike for a beginner though, since many have asked. It's okay to say that you OWN a Harley-Davidson, but unless and until you have successfully completed formal rider training beyond the MSF Basic Rider Course and/or have an objectively quantifiable riding skill level that qualifies you to accurately describe yourself as a "rider", I would recommend not using those words to describe what you do on motorcycles.

Hi . Planning to get Hayabusa . I like this bike , i have some questions:1. This bike will be used only for touring- weekend trips 100-200 km. Do you think is right choice? 2. Im planning to get Hayabusa 2008 year so its 16 years old bike. Is it worth ? 6 Tell me 3 reasons not to buy this bike. Thanks
@MototalkUSA
4 ай бұрын
Hello, it's absolutely the right choice for what you're looking to use it for, if you don't Intend to go off road of course. I never had to think about the fuel consumption because compared to our cars it's really economical however I will be making a video on this topic because a lot of viewers are interested. The oil interval is about every 3500 Miles, but I never go over 3000. According to the manual you can change out only the oil 2 times and on the 3rd time you change the oil filter as well. I find that the air filter gets dirty sooner than the manual asks to replace it but of course that depends on your environment. Iridium plugs last a very long time and the valve clearances according to the manual need to be checked every 15000 miles, I checked mine at 20000 and they were still good. Regarding the clutch in city driving, I don't know what to say, but any big motorcycle is kind like that but the benefit is that this motorcycle has hydraulic clutch 😉 Even if it was a 2000 model year I wouldn't worry, as long as it's in good condition and not beat, Japanese bikes are very durable and last many many years. This is one of my reasons for getting it. Reasons not to get, if you're not yet an experienced rider, this thing is a rocket boat. The weight, it's heavy about 260 kg with fuel. It eats up tires if you ride aggressively, I change 1 tire per year, either the front or back. And lastly to change the oil filter you have to remove the side fairing, kind of a hassle but not the end of the world. Hope this helps you with your decision.

You pass to the next dimension and it’s owe, he left a pristine motorcycle behind. Barely road it. He had a nice Viper, barely drove it though. I have 3 co-workers. One daily rides an Aprilia 1000cc, one a Corvette and one a Charger Hellcat. I laugh sometimes, rain or snow that Hellcat is parked outside the office. But I get it, his dream car is the Hellcat and he’s going to drive it into the ground by time he’s done with it. He’s in his 50’s, what is he saving it for? When he’s in his 60’s?

I am a guy who has 4-5 years of experience on a normal bike (200cc). Since 2017, I didn’t ride any bike, and now thinking of getting a SBK. I am confused in between ZX6R and Hayabusa. P.s. I always wanted to get a Hayabusa but I researched and it seems that I should start with 600cc rather than a liter class bike. Pls suggest, all opinions are welcome. I am a 35 y/o and I believe that I will be responsible while riding a bike, weather it is zx6r or Busa.
@MototalkUSA

I would definitely recommend to get the 600 next and not the Hayabusa, because from a 200 to a 1340cc bike, is a big gap to jump. After some flight hours with the 600, you'll definitely be more "seasoned" for the Hayabusa. I hope this helps you with your decision my friend.

Did you wire everything direct to the battery through the right side of the bike??? Totally agree about the seat position, you can be super confortable for traffic, also because the mirrors are lower than the cars. ironically as a beginner-ish rider whos done only about 6k miles since june of 23 on my z400. But trying out slightly lowered hayabusa felt so good between the legs for me at 5'4. and despite the curb weight these bikes feel very light between the legs.
