The engagement seems really abrupt. That's a lot of time spinning before the system figures out what to do

I mean... yes... while it's the same principle Toyota and Jeep's systems are way better, I guess they've had more time to perfect it and their cars usually count with way more power to play with, meaning that there's less need for aggressive responses.

It's traction control, not limited slip diff

The whole traction control lurching is pretty normal for any brand, it is scary, give me live axle with flex and lockers any day.

Also the old model with esp and in 4wd-l had a limited slip function of the differential operated by brakes.

The LSD seems to have a very big downside in terms of off-road control. I would hate to be in a tight situation and have to rely on the LSD to smoothly get me out of it. Might end up being thrown off of a cliff as a result of it causing the car to jump forward. Would have been great for Suzuki to just add a locker on the rear and call it a day.
@fopish

Dumani Mjo it's an open differential tho, limited slip controlled by the breaks. Which sucks for slippery conditions, I'll admit.

@Kamil Korzeniowski can never happen.. target market is for on road user. Those seeking diff lockers, front lockers might just be .05 percent of the whole customers. Portal axles.. and you're pushing it.

Well would help if they engaged 4x4 on the older Jimny, could see there was only traction on the rear axle
@spoonyspoonicus4648

You clearly have no idea how a 4x4 without diff locks work. The Front right tire is spinning. Most 4x4`s that have no diff lock or traction control will only spin one wheel per axle if it is off the ground. The power always goes to the easiest wheel to turn with an open diff.

The Amarok front diff has a proper brake lock differential that mimics exactly how a mechanically locked diff works. There is no crazy spinning of front wheels, if you have a front wheel in the air it will rotate at the exact same speed as the wheel on the ground. They all work via the ABS system, it just comes down to how Suzuki has programmed it and they have opted for this now too common crazy solution of spinning a wheel until grip is found. Very easy to break a CV with how Suzuki has programmed their brake lock differential system.

The traction control system is the same (ALLGRIP PRO). In the old model did not enter low gears and then does not work. They have to show that the new model is better ...👎

J E LSD works with disc with a certain pressure applied: 25% 40% etc. With an LSD once the pressure from the plates break you got a freewheeling tire. Im a pro offroader. You should be better off schooling yourself on the technical stuff.

I'd prefer something mechanical. I had a gen 4 Mitsubishi pajero which had the electronic brake/lsd system. It was pretty unpredictable off road. Youd start to slip and then gas it and then it would lurch forward, just like the suzuki here.
