Have been watching a lot of your tutorials and even though I have owned anRf900 for a decade, I have learned a lot from them, so thank you for taking the time to produce them. Well shot / edited , to the point and informative.

Actually you don’t remove the tensioner to adjust it. You back off the two bolts holding it on about an 1/8”, it will automatically advance a couple clicks. Then just tighten it back up.

Got an rf900 im building.. what do you think of these new manual cam tensioners which they say is supposedly better than the stock ones??
@Adikxx
4 жыл бұрын
I have no experience with them but personally never had probs with stock ones so will stick to them. Stock tensnioners ale fool proof and last thousands of miles so can't really go wrong with them.

My chain is slapping abit doni need the tensioner or a new chain and gides?
@Adikxx

Possibly. It's always to replace the chain with tensioner than just tensioner

Also id like to ask man my rf finally got running right with emulsion tubes but I have always heard the cam chain kinda slap at first takeoff I have a manual one but I was looking for a OEM one to install instead how loud would you say is normal on the rf for the timing chain also I was told I had to split the case to change the chain couldn't you break the chain add the new one to the old one and spin it over?

@@jmillzthepimp27 manual tensioners are no good cause they need attention. OEM spring loaded one will be safer option. You can replace the cam chain without splitting the cases but you'll need to split the old chain, attach the new one to it, feed the new chain through the engine and finally rivet the new chain. Sounds terrible but it's not bad. It will be a lot easier to do that that removing the engine. New chain is cheap as chips and new spring for the tensioner is even cheaper that that. 100 bucks max for both parts . One full day of work doing it at steady pace and it's done.
