Truest words ever written down! I'm hopefully going to get an SV soon, me and the Mrs are going to ride from the UK to Bulgaria along the best biking roads on the planet. I used to have a GSXR 600 K3 and regularly used to leave bigger bikes in my wake including Hyabusas, my ex had a full faired SV650S and I loved riding it for the same reasons, and it was fun above all else!

Both frustrating and satisfying at the same , you can round up the bigger bike in the braking zones and corners and then get blown off on the straights. Always liked SV's

the CBR has longer legs more hp so it will beat the 650 down the straight but because the suzi is light and doesnt have to brake so hard it will get through the corners quicker. Id say ultimately though the ability of the rider makes a huge difference too..

Well the standard chrome Exhaust isn't pretty or the front forks, ill give you that, but I stuck an aftermarket can on my black SV (version with fairing) and I was certainly not ashamed of it. I came from a ZX6R as needed something to do courier work with and it was a great all round machine even tho it was a bit lacking in power. Certainly felt more confident laying over in the corners and even out of the corners compared with my early ZX6R..

Well yea sv is as fast in corner like supersport 600 it have very similar geometry wheelbase head frame angle weight distribution seat hight similar max lean angle 🤷🏻♂️ its just lack of top end power compare to supersport 600 and on fast track only this makes diffrenc 🤷🏻♂️ at breaking and in corner no diffrenc at all 👌🏻

Yes. Can be done within 4 sec I think. Especially from 0 - 80kmh (first gear) the SV is hard to beat, because of its usable power.

I notice for the most part the sv is engine out braking the cbr1000, and readily slips past. The cbr only catches it when up into the fire blades upper power band. Excellent riding

@@mitchellmitchell6938 but not under deceleration. The vee twin is the superior "Jake brake". In the right hands as clearly shown the skilled user can use this to their advantage. Less braking, by using the engine and back on the power soonest.

Just got me a 2001 SV and love it. Would like to double with my wife but we are both getting he weight on a bit so I stiffened up the suspension all the way and she still sits down a bit too much at the back. The bike I mean not the wife ha ha. Any suggestions again, about the bike not the wife. Yeah yeah I know, lose some weight. Thought I'd better get in first.
@slimmerik1
10 жыл бұрын
As far as I know (and I'm not a suspension-expert), the only thing you can change on the rear suspension is the preload. This basically changes the ride height, but not the characteristic of the spring. Although in case of the SV this is the best (and only) thing to do, when riding with 2 people. To get the suspension stiffer, you should change the spring on the rear shock. That would be a big upgrade, when riding with 2. Hope this helps a bit

Well that has nothing to do with the bike, obviously the cbr's rider is not track experienced. You can see how he overtakes the sv on the straights, like the sv is a 50cc scooter.

Slimmerik Yes, we know that dude. And just for the further record the SV is a sport touring bike and without major modifications its geometry, suspension, instruments, foot peg and bars position, seat height, bike height set you back from really aggressive riding. You're doing awesome riding!
