southern shop thanks a lot, brother. I’ve put in a lot of time and money to our craft. Lots of behind the scenes dealings you guys don’t see. I’ve recently purchased a ballistic pressure testing unit that is gonna help load development out greatly. I’ll post more on it in the coming weeks.

great vid...I've been loading slugs and buckshot for years too. I would suggest you raise the height of your slug assembly with a gas seal and cork spacers to get it up about 1/4" to 5/16th from the top. I've found this to be perfect for slug and buckshot loads. To much crimp can mess with your consistency. Also yo might want to try BPs clear over shot disks on top before you roll crimp. They're cheap and it makes for a great looking round...cheers

Thanks for the reply. I've found that some of my most consistent and accurate slugs come from deep roll crimps. I prefer a deep roll crimp to help with pressure for complete powder burns.

Great video. Have you experienced any powder migration using the green BP20 wads in the cheddite hulls?

Have you tried to pre drill the wads with a drill bit on a drill press? That may help guide your screw as perfect as possible

Mr Leon I have a question to ask, if I do not have a rifle choke tube for my 12 gauge or a dedicated slug gun is it safe just to use a cylinder or skeet choke for these slugs
@buckandslugreloaders9005

Absolutely. Any plumbata-style slug (slugs where the wad stays attached) can be shot through a smooth bore.

MCK first of all, thanks for watching! I’ve wrote a couple of articles for the Reloader’s Network! I’ve bought their roll crimper which I think is amazing. As far as components, I’ll keep that in mind! Svarog and AS Mold Company has been one of my sponsors for the past 4-5 years. I’ve got about 10,000 of the Azot wads on hand. Would love to get my hands on those Kontravera wads!

2 of 2. Rifled barrel? I don't know dude. Do the Lee 7/8oz slugs just shoot that much better then any other slug out there? Would a chrome lined barrel shoot slugs in a smooth bore better then a barrel that is not chrome lined? But anywho great video and keep working at it.

1 of 2. I could track/see the slugs before they hit the target. So if you did not show video in slow-mo. they have to have been moving at factory Winchester Silver Tip HP.44 Special speeds real life speeds not what the box says You can see them flying to the target too.

I got a ballistic pressure tester. That's gonna be a valuable tool when working up speeds. But honestly, about 1200 fps is all you need with these slugs.

You still kicking? Oh and would a chrome lined barrel make slugs shoot better?

Hey brother. I wouldn't think that is as important as barrel constriction.
