I remember listening to this while standing at the shore of a lake in Iceland, all alone, and watching the northern lights unfold in the nightsky above the water. Deepest beauty I've known.

Once I was in a psychiatric hospital, on the terrain there was a bar and you could grab the microphone and sing. I was in a psychotic episode back then and was very anxious at the time. I chose this song to sing in front of all the fellow patients, as I recall. It's been 12 years that I am stable. Just wanted to leave a fast story how I expierenced this music myself when I was in a dark mood of life.

The title is a play on words. "Svefngenglar" means "Sleepwalkers" but leave out the G and it becomes "Sleep Angels".

My dad played this whole album for me as a baby. I’m just rediscovering it this year but it feels so strangely familiar

this was the first Sigur Ros song I ever heard and I felt as if I'd stumbled into an alternate universe. To this day, this is still my favorite album.

I am a big music freak and there are so many bands and tunes I love, also jazz and classical music, but Sigur Rós are outstanding...you dive into a universe of pure music where you can get totally lost...this is pure music, this is musical nirvana...fantastic.

Not too long in the near future, i will make a lot of people in the world cry, using this track.

Just to allude to one of the comments below, i was 40 when i first heard this piece and boy did it resonate. The thing about music as to when you get older is that, you find it harder to get that feeling of when you first started to listen to music when you were a teenager starting out in the discovery of all that was new and exciting. The hairs raised on the back of your neck, that enveloping that takes you to a different place when you close your eyes, the moods that thrill and depress. This was one of those songs that took me back.

I remember listening to this first song and would play it at home and even while doing homework sometimes, I felt a peaceful environment. Then in college I would listen to this song for hours. Every time I hear it or hear any song by Sigur Rós, takes me back to a dreamy positive event of my life

It's a lovely trip to read people writing about falling to sleep to this as babies. So sweet. I was 30 when I first heard it. Hooray for intergenerational appeal!
