I was reviewing an old episode on your 1950 Dodge pilothouse Farm truck. One of the last things you said was "I really don't know what to do with this thing but I didn't want to see it scrapped". When I was a kid our school we had a Metal shop, a Wood shop and an Auto shop. Someone left them (the school) with a 1935 Chevrolet Stake body farm truck that was every bit as ratty as your Dodge. The Students in the wood shop took apart all the wood and replaced it all. The boys in the metal shop, cut out all the rust, replaced it with new metal and banged out the dents (mind you I'm on in years and back then they used lead filler) and the Boys in Auto shop replaced the broken leaf springs, replaced the steering box, and rebuilt the drive train. The girls in Home economics & Sewing class re-stuffed and recovered the seat and the visor (only one). They managed to paint & varnish the whole Truck and have it ready 2 weeks before Memorial day. It rolled down Main street in the Parade with as many of the boys and girls that could fit in the back stake body area. They had a banner in paper attached to the back bed that read Roosevelt High School Truck Restoration project 1962-1963. The whole thing was completely restored and running in 2 semesters by 30 kids. The Truck was medium Blue with red highlights and light wood tone brightwork. It was gorgeous and was around for about 8 years before it "disappeared"...Where to is unknown?

Hey Brent, really digging this T build. Personally I would leave it tall, no more chop, I think it would take on that long appearance again. Keep up the great work and take care my friend. 👍
@coherantbliss3483
2 жыл бұрын
I agree about a deep chop making it look longer...was thinking maybe only a 1.5"-2" chop? Aesthetically speaking...hard to tell without actually doing it then move it up/down and stand back and look...IMO that frame raised in front throws everything "off". but that's just me :)

The front end looks 100% better - an opinion shared by many today. I am already officially hooked on this build - taking shape, getting better. While I like the look as-is, a slight chop will go a long way in mitigating the visuals on the length.
