Does anybody out there in cyber space remember when Jazz Manouche was the music of a culture that resonated with the eccentric poetry of it's players and spoke of the human condition as opposed to the lick maesters and speed demons of today?
@RHGBJH
4 жыл бұрын
Really? When? Just enjoy whatever music you like man, any philosophy attached is your own subjective view - it's not a competition of who's most "cultural", whatever that is. Also, for some reason I fail to see how tunes like "Django's Tiger" had anything to say about "the human condition" - another abstract term with no meaning.

Too much predictable playing with too much embelishments too.In one word very stereotype playing.If one's search for raw and inspiring playing then find Michael Paouris on youtube and his "Django's rainy heart".It goes far above what Joscho ever did.Paouris is a genius,while Stephan is an ordinary virtuoso.That's all folks.
@MrMiss
4 жыл бұрын
Totally disagree there mate. Michaels' playing is very fast no doubt but very sloppy. Not my thing anyway. He doesn't have a patch on Joscho. Most of the big jazz manouche players are lining up to play with joscho in concert.
@dinkogrgat5188
4 жыл бұрын
@@MrMiss Just funny.For Paouris' playing you may say anything else in the world but not to be sloppy.You may dislike his style or choice of notes in improvisation.That's o.k., but in a techical way he's far ahead from Joscho.Once again I'll repeat it.Joscho is an ordinary virtuoso,no doubt,but not a real.After all "de gustibus non est disputandum". Wish you a good time listening to Joscho's playing.
@erichnussbaum

Paouris is not even a guitarist. He plays the Bouzouki. He will never be a guitarist like Joscho Stephan.
