So happy I didn’t watch the trailer before I watched the show. The first had me hooked! I really enjoyed it. And this trailer brings everything back.

The last episode of the season doesn't correspond to the rhythm of the series at all. Annoying!

i agree, but i guess they wanted to leave some things open so that they'd get picked up for a season 2

I almost thought this was a faith based series, it’s better than most these days. Be mindful while watching Christ is Holy. John 14:6

Some classic movies should not be turned into a weekly series.

Two completely different stories. The movie was called Steel Magnolias and not Sweet Magnolias. Steel Magnolias was based off a play by Robert Harling and Sweet Magnolias is based off a novel by Sherryl Woods who also wrote novels that was the basis for the Chesapeak Shores series.

Hallmark Movie / Series bought by Netflix? Netflix's model is very intesting. They produce very little themselves (of their library) and buy anything deemed "ok" or better from studios/independants producers with the clause that they get to put their name brand on it.

Is it literally just *one* POC or black person on this show? Because that smells like tokenism.

Maybe watch a bit of it before making judgy comments. There’s Eric, who’s the sous chef and has an interesting back story, then Peggy who writes for the town newspaper, and the Pastor who features heavily in moments of spiritual crisis.

@@TheCarlScharnberg no, to add on from jess's comment, there's also isaac (who's mixed race) and micah, as well as gabe (ty's best friend). i personally think they do a good job with the diversity in a small town - especially when you consider shows set in big cities like ny etc often have no POC or black people (despite the fact they'd typically be even more diverse due to higher population)
