I love how you read my mind as I am watching you cook. As soon as you mentioned the chicken rub, I heard myself say what, and then you showed the tin. You are a person after my heart. I have a fetish for tins. I don't know why more food isn't sold in them. I know my husband would love this dish. He use to get sweet and sour chicken at the restaurants that we hardly go to anymore. Thanks for this one. We're raising grandkids, so easy is important.

This is an electric pressure cooker, not a pressure canner. The old pressure cooker was on it's way out so this was a serendipitous find. This won't be used for canning, I would never trust it.

I cut the peppers and onions in bigger chunks so they stand up to cooking better. Also, I only put half the oranges in at first, all the juice. I stirred in the other half when I added the tapioca to thinking. This way I had some whole pieces.

Hey Noreen .... Just a quick thank you for your time and inspiration (in general) for pressure cooking using an electric model. Your sweet pepper and orange chicken recipe got me salivating AND on the phone to QVC to order an electric pc. I LOVE it. Have cooked too recipes so far (in 3 days) some for eating now and some for freezing and it is a godsend. So much better than my memories of the old stove top I used to have 30 years ago. So thanks again. We really do appreciate you both. ~ Joni

Nicole Swenson Get the Instant Pot, I love mine! Big selling point is that it does not have the non-stick coating on the bowl which can be toxic. Check out the great reviews on Amazon.

Regardless of what they SAY about being able to pressure can in this cooker, I do not trust it and will never do it. After a long look at the recipes and information in their instruction manual, I have come to the conclusion that it is not safe to pressure can low acid foods in this machine. It may sound like a great thing, but I do not trust it. The recipes they gave were all for jams and jellies and things that are normally water bath canned. That is not safe for other things containing meat etc. Sorry, but you will never see me pressure can anything in this machine.

Noreen's Kitchen I do not can in my pressure cooker I just make the soup and then use my presto pressure canner for the soups, I agree with you I would not be comfortable canning in the elite, although on the sales pitch on HSN the "chef" shows a few jars in her demo PC but not really going through the actual procedure.

Itazuke Dee I am sorry, I totally misunderstood you. I am glad to know you use your real pressure canner to preserve your home cooked items. I just don't know that I would ever give this a try. Too much to risk if you know what I mean!

I would be afraid that the jars would break BUT making soups, chili etc and then transferring to ball jars and canning I think is the safe way to go ..I know this is what you are also saying

Have you seen the Pinterest site "40 meals in 4 hours? OMG I want to try this but I cannot see where she has given appropriate directions or a menu shopping list (cannot find) I am going to start some painting jobs on my house and having meals in the slow cooker ready to go would be a giant time saver.. take a look and let me know what you think thanks Dee

How do you like that pressure cooker compared to the Wolfgang Puck one? What are some of the differences? I got a Wolfgang Puck one just like yours when I first started watching your channel because you had one. Now I may change depending on what your thoughts are on your new one. Thanks!

Sounds Yummy! Just wondering,...I had read somewhere that if using frozen that you don't need to increase the time, because it won't get hot enough to boil and come to pressure until the meat is thawed out anyway. What are your feelings on this, and I'm wondering if you've ever tried it without increasing the time? Thanks.

I'm not sure. It takes time for the pressure to build and then the cooking time and then the depressure time, but you can release that in about five minutes if you need to, just to be safe I would say an hour.

Looks great I will try it but for me I will definitely have to reduce the amount of marmalade a jar is around half a pound of sugar plus the add fruits in built sugar far too much for European diets
@noreenskitchenchannel
8 жыл бұрын
+Lee B Yeah, I guess Europeans are way better than Americans when it comes to eating. Everyone should do what they feel is best. Just an FYI, the marmalade I used was the "all natural" version. It was low sugar. It was only 1 cup of marmalade. So your assessment of this having a half a pound or an entire cup of sugar is not accurate. Just letting you know so that any confusion can be avoided. I did mention those facts in the video.

You have no idea! We both started to get sick (me first) about a month ago. For the next three weeks we sounded like the TB ward at a hospital. Horrible cough, sinus congestion and chest congestion as well. So glad it is all over with. We are both back about 98 percent. I would not wish what we had on anyone. Something like that always seems to happen to me when Winter turns to Spring, but this year was a doozy! Just glad it didn't turn into Bronchitis or Pneumonia!
