At what step of the production line do they put the damp in?

I would never buy a caravan that was assembled this fast. When you are working this fast, mistakes happen and accuracy suffers, workers get fatigued and hurt.

So the car that you drive was built in a week?..........more like it roled of the production line every 60 seconds

I find the process very interesting. But I really doubt about its strength. There is no framework on the sides and on top other than just panels.

I would never want to buy a caravan that came out of this factory, these workers are in such a hurry.. seems like there is no attention to detail or quality anywhere! I bet they have a very high "sick on stress" rate at that factory!

Interesting but for me they look as though they need stronger structure ridgity , ie aluminium spaceframe for added strength then put panels on top. 20k plus for a wood frame, ridiculous price!!!!!!

Been saving for a caravan for 2 years and now looking to buy. Found myself here as have read so so many stories of poorly made caravans that leak even in the first year. Have watches Bailey and Elddis being made and looked like a great deal of care being taken by the workers. I am amazed at how they work putting a Swift together. Peace work for an item that costs so much and needs to be spot on is a terrible idea. Watching these people run around and throw a caravan together like this with no care whatsoever is a disgrace from Swift. Swift now crossed off my list. Workers maybe skilled but working like this will ALWAYS lead to mistakes.

Ok you have had it for a year now,are you happy with it.Appears to be a lot of unfounded negativity here.I checked one out. This is the future of all caravan builds taken from the boat industry.they are a very nice van inside with the best lounge area i have come across.I am considering one only for Australian conditions i will get the lift kit and heavy duty suspension which should be standard for Australian conditions as even our blacktop can resemble a English 4wd track.A positive air pressure may also be required as i did hear a complaint about entry of dust,as the Poms would not have a clue about our bull dust. Just a recommendation the use of sikaflex during the assembly process would make these vans bullet proof.

Yes, we are happy with our Explorer 4. It has got some problems, like all the other caravans once they are taken on the road, because of all that vibrating etc. We spoke to people who just had a new Jayco and Bayley who had big problems, even our son who bought a brand new Jayco $64K and had lots of problems as well. One lady with a new Jayco was told by the dealer that all new caravans have some problems when first taken on the road. But the problems we had have all been fixed and so far so good. Went on a 4 month trip down the South Coast of Australia towards Perth, came back over 200km dirt road from Wave Rock Hyden, to Norsman and we had some red dirt on the floor in the cup board under the kitchen sink. But otherwise nothing at all. So we were very pleased with it. The chassis from our van is higher then the others. So we can go over a sand track if needed and is great for steep driveways at Petrol stations. There is a Swift caravan owners group on Facebook you might like to join and find out what others think about the Swift. So far we are still very happy with ours. :)facebook.com/groups/swiftcaravanowners/

With the new SMART HT construction methods you would image that this process of manufacture will be become obsolete within a few years.
