Nice Video. I will get my SW350T in the next hours. I ordered it from Amazon 2 days ago.Can't wait to get started. Normally your oil should be labeled with "Immersion Oil". Greetings from Munich.

Very cool! I would love my own microscope, but if I'm honest with myself, I wouldn't really use it. Be careful with the swivel head. We had to swivel them to store them at school, and eventually metal shavings started collecting in the objectives and they all had to be carefully cleaned out. So use it, but sparingly and carefully. I look forward to seeing what you get up to with your new microscope!

Thanks for the heads up! I was a little worried about the swivel head 😂 I plan to keep it locked

@domilarae Yes, I bought the one with the camera. They lowered the price and had a coupon for $20 off. I couldn't resist.😅 I'm looking forward to more of your videos. I'm an endoscopy technician. I know nothing about microscopy, lol, but it's cool.

If you do a quick google search for “diy at-home microscopy experiments”, there’s a lot of ideas to try to get started!

Thanks for this review. Have you found an above table light (light source above the table) attachment for this?

I did a quick Amazon search and they have some that seem pretty affordable. There’s the magnifying glass table lights or even the gooseneck style. I didn’t even think to order it, but I’m sure it would come in handy. Let me know if you decide to get one!

Hi, just wondering why you put the drop of oil for the bigger objective only. Is it something done with all microscopes? Sorry, I'm super new to this.
@domilarae

It allows us to see the microbes clearly on the highest magnifying lens if that makes sense

@@UV-NIR-Thermal You might find the 60x lens better than oil. It will definitely be less messy! Were you able to get some microscope slides? There's also a great channel here on youtube called Microbehunter. He gives a lot of tips and advice for microscopy. Check it out when you get a chance!

@@domilarae Yeah I've been watch lots of Microbehunter, learning about the simple lighting techniques I didn't know about. I have slide and coverslips too, been checking out rain water, pretty crazy what's alive even if it's still frozen on the top.

Hi! Quick question is being a medical lab tech a sedentary job ?I am interested in the field and have really poor circulation in my legs so sitting for long periods of time makes my legs feel heavy is this the case when being a med lab tech? And if one is interested in microbiology or blood banking for example do we need to go back to school to do specialties ?
@domilarae
Жыл бұрын
I will say no, it’s not sedentary from my experience. There are certain tasks that may be easier if you sit for long periods, like microscopy or plate reading. You would not need to go back to school if you are certified as a generalist - it will allow you to work all areas of the clinical laboratory.
