Wasn’t Lionel coaching you? Did you talk about that in a previous video?

Lionel once did, very briefly. But always acted as an amazing sounding board and role model to me. I asked him at the end of last season if he would consider it. But he just doesn’t have the time at the moment (obviously lol).

Big T! I'm not seeing it much or at all in your swimming videos, but do you spend any significant time drafting faster swimmers in the pool? It's how most "serious" adult swimmers get faster quicker (and gain better drafting skills). Either on a fast Master's squad/lane or with faster swim training partners!

Love this coach's vibes! Super chilled and methodical. Looking forward to seeing the results 🔥 Hey genuine question for you/Wes/Justin: there seems to be a lot of chats about the importance of swim training in a 50m/yd pool VS 25m/yd pool (especially since Ari has been to Australia, plus some of the comments on your videos and on Lionel's videos). What's the view on that? Cheers mate

Love the content. What I'd really like to hear is what exactly is it you are working on technique wise. I get the adding volume and always hear takeout speed is a big requirement at the level you are competing but just throwing in laps seems too simplistic.

4:32 - spot on observation. There is no excuse - for a professional athlete with a number of year’s experience - to not be able to stick like glue to the feet of another triathlete (or a bunch) that is up to 10% (at least) faster in the pool. It always baffles me why Lionel - who has swum a 18.51 LONG COURSE 1500M in preseason training a few years back gets dropped out of his target ‘Ditlev Pack’ group all the time. 18>51 equates to 1:15 min/100M pace & that second pack doesn’t average much more than that. Even the mid swim pace surges wouldn’t be below 1:10s.
