I preferred it before it was dyed green. But if you like it, then that’s what counts.

Love these tips,it's all very handy knowledge. I had a German military winter jacket for snow missions I bought second hand... Had it for years.. It began to smell a bit old n dirty so I washed it ...same thing,a large bloke would struggle to wring it out!super heavy

So I watched your video a couple a weeks ago… decided to try it myself with my M70 jacket and my TAZ 83 pants I used the exact same dye as you did, now it’s drying up, looks amazing ! The pod says you can dye up to 600g of fabric or else you’d need more, but it did wonderfully with the full uniform. However the rubberized pads were not dyed because too old, so I’ll unsew them when the thing’s dry. Thank you JB, great video !

I didn't think it had made much difference, I really thought it should have gone darker until then I saw the comparison at the end. Looking good chap, I think I would use it for a bit and maybe tone it down a little more when you fancy a change.

The original might work well in the Australian scrub, where there's a lot of red dirt with harsh lighting🤔👍. Dyed, it'd definitely still suit the Aussie outback!😎👍

Cracking experiment, I'm toying with dyeing one of my ultralight packs, which is currently a light slate grey. But because it's polyester the process is a wee bit more complicated but is possible. I look forward to your next test 👍🏼

Have you found a dye that works on polyester? I have always ended up spraying any kit that needed colour changes that was not cotton (spray works fine but can look flat), interesting to hear how you did it, and were the results good? Cheers.

@@greetb9330 yes all the major brands make a synthetic specific versions of their fabric dyes, just takes a few seconds to read the labels. When you say spray what sort of spray do you mean? I'd be interested to see the results.

@@AggyGoesOutdoors @Aggy Goes Outdoors Thanks for the reply, Krylon spary paint works well on tougher materials, I think at a push you could use Kobra paint. The only issue you have is it can go on thick if you do too much too soon, I gave away a pack I sprayed but it covered it well. Dylon is great on some, desert dpm seems to come up well using dylon, I think the best way is to soak in a big bucket, machine stuff goes in and out too fast unless happy to pause washer for few hours! (and incurr the wrath of the rest of the house!)

@@greetb9330 interesting, I had never even considered sprays, but a spray might be good for adding some texture and depth to the colours of the items. 👍🏼 Jacquard idye is the off the shelf dye I've used on a few smaller items with success. Just not had the balls to try it on my whole pack yet. 🙄🤪 I need to grow some 🤣🤦♂️
