Can you change it at runtime? For example the app should start as Blazor server for faster page load and in the background download all the stuff needed to run in WebAssembly. After the download is done it should run in Wasm.

That is a really good question. It is currently not supported in .NET6 but it's on the roadmap for .NET7. You can check below video to see what's coming to Blazor with .NET7. kzitem.info/news/bejne/lKVvl31spXZedaQ

I'm confused. Does Blazor Webassembly "hosting" not exactly that? You get a server and a client. EDIT: Found my answer in your series, second video. Great playlist!
