I am wondering, what happened on your thumb??? There's like a scratch wound there :(( Also, very amazing restoration ^^ I love everything about this channel, and the honesty and commentary within just makes it all the better, unlike other restoration videos that don't explain anything at all... Keep up the great work, and love all your projects by far!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

No flak for me - loved the video and very satisfy it to watch. Doesn’t matter to me if half the machine had to be replaced, or if the end result is still beaten up - it’s working, has character and was fun to watch. Keep it up!

I really enjoyed this rebirth for this switch console. You brought this console back from the dead. I think the scratches and cracks give it some charm. It brings back memories of my older brothers hand me down Gameboy that i was given. The Gameboy was a little sun bleached, the screen was scratched it didn't always play games right away and the piece of plastic thar holds the battery in place was replaced with some clear packing tape. That old busted and dusty Gameboy created so many childhood memories for me. The first game on any console I ever beat was links awakening. Mario bros 6 golden coins was a console quality Mario game in the palm of my hands and Pokémon yellow had me hooked for a full year. Just because it's old and beat up doesn't mean it's trash. You've earned a sub my dude keep up the good work 👍

I've found with the usb-c ports on some of my devices, Plackers are great for cleaning them out without as much risk as a metal dental pick. I keep a few in my toolkits and in my car in case I have junk in my phone charging port, they might help you out in the future as well!

I think the condition of the screen, thumb sticks, and buttons matter the most as far as functionality, so with the parts you replaced I think a lot of people would still be happy to use this switch if they don't have the means to get one that's new or lightly used. Nice job!

That reminds me of my beaten up blue Nintendo DSi. I have several DS consoles as it was my fave handheld console from Nintendo (and so easy to pirate even in its heyday thanks to flashcarts), but this particular one I picked up from a thrifstore a couple years ago for equivalent of 3 bucks. It had DSTWO flashcart inside, which was THE flashcart to get back in the day (acecard being the other one). I ended up playing it quite a lot, cause the screens and hinge were in good condition and I don't have to worry about damaging it, since the case is full of scuffs already.

I have wrecked a screen before with using too much IPA on my first Switch battery removal. Honestly, and this is totally NOT recommended, my favorite method is with much much less IPA....and a rounded metal spudger with ALOT of finesse. Theres really no easy way to remove these things so do whatever you feel comfortable with.

What are your plans for the switch in the end?
