A few notes from the world's most crackheaded Combat Medic main: -I personally prefer Running Restoration over SC-4; it provides a nice bump to your burst healing and makes you generally more mobile. You generate a great deal of Supercharge already just by casting Medical Probe and Magical Medical Beam™. You shouldn't need more unless you're using Supercharged Cell every time you hit 10 stacks, which you really shouldn't be doing. -While Random Charge is nice, Advanced Scanning is a much more reliable option in most situations. Cooldown reduction is very nice for most situations, and gives you a much more reliable healing output. You'll be generating enough Supercharge off of your heals for most fights, having a shorter cooldown on your burst heals is much more useful. -Efficient Probes is not the best pick for your level 39 choice. You should usually take either Neighborly Probes or Shield Probes depending on the situation. I like Neighborly when there are a lot of melee classes and a lot of AoE damage, and Shield Probes for most other situations. Efficient Probes are really only good in very specific situations. -Do not ever take Supercharged Celerity as the healer. It is absolutely, 100% not worth losing Overclock for. Overclock is a very, very easy choice for Combat Medics. In PvE, it lets you spam out more AMPs per burst. In PvP, it means that you can get off at least 3 AMPs without being interrupted. It's very, very nice. -You should take Hold the Line for most PvE, and Echoing Deterrence for ALL PvP. ALWAYS take this for PvP. It is not even a choice. Functional invinicibility goes brr. "Advanced" Notes (don't take these seriously unless you sniff glue for a hobby): -Field Triage is a meme and you shouldn't worry about how many stacks of it you have -You should only use Recharge Cells when below 30 cells, and you should use it on Successive Treatment for best results. Kolto Bomb also works if ST is on cooldown, because it's instant cast and will get you your results quickest. -I cannot overstate how important Overclock is to keeping your little snot goblin DPS alive. That fifteen second cooldown reduction turns your Tech Override from a rare resource into something you don't have to save for a rainy day. The slight time reduction between hard casting versus instant casting is also extremely easy to overlook, but it can be the difference between life and death. "Extremely Advanced" Note (seriously, this one is just a dumbass gimmick) -Don't take Integrated Probes, take the +5% crit chance on your AMPs. It's flashier, and you can stack a lot of crit onto Combat Medics already. AMP crit spam goes brr.someone

Wow, really cool tips. I never thought of using Overclock for healer but it does make a lot of sense. I'll test out your pieces of advice and let you know how it goes, but I think I'll really like the changes.

Which class IS the best healer and isn't super complicated? I'm a total newbie and haven't picked a class yet lol

@@CandysChannel There isn't honestly a best healer, in my opinion. Which class does best is dependent on a variety of factors, including player skill and what kind of damage you're taking. If you're just getting into healing, I'd recommend Sorcerer/Sage or Commando/Mercenary; most people find them a little easier than Operative/Scoundrel healers. As a commando main, I'm obliged to tell you that we're the best healing class, but in reality it's going to be dependent on what you enjoy playing. If you don't like playing a class, you're never going to get very good at it.

I don't know if answering this is still relevant to you, but if you want simple then trooper/merc is the answer. They have fantastic burst healing and energy management is something you have to be careful with, but it's easy enough to manage. Frankly, the healers in this game are very well balanced, so a best and easiest healer doesn't exist. Trooper is easiest, and is more than capable, but does have limitations in AOE healing and healing over time (Hots). Sage is the balanced healer that doesn't excel in anything but is good at everything, which makes them highly versatile. Sages also have more complex energy management and it's punishing to mess up. Scoundrel/operative is the one that's really complex to learn, but incredible once you figure it out. They have functional but not great single target burst, and an obscene amount of Hots and AOE. In theory, scoundrel/operative is the best because the total output is just crazy, and they pair perfectly with troopers or sages who can fill the single target burst needs. And in theory, trooper is the weakest, but not lacking, just having limitations. Overall, there is no best and simplest healer, that's where they balanced really well. Each healer has situations they are uniquely suited for. Trooper is best for single target burst, sage is best for versatility, and scoundrel is best for AOE and Hots. They also increase in complexity and total capability in that same order. Personally, I main operative with sage as my alt. I also have a trooper that I don't like, but I'm becoming reasonably comfortable with now. And to be clear, I don't have anything against trooper heals, it's great at what it does, but does have limitations. I also personally prefer having good AOE and Hots because I mostly play ops, where the operative can truly excel. @@CandysChannel
