Another good one mate. It's fun watching your line for taps - you can see it so clearly sometimes.

Thanks Niall, glad you're enjoying them! Yeah you can see it really clearly on the end of a floating fly line - sometimes it only moves an inch or so... I caught a decent Murray Cod on a fly once by watching a 2 inch tap on the end of the fly line then striking. :)

Hey pal, loving the video. Totally new to the Salt water fly. do you use a regular floating line? or is it a special salt one?

Hi Conor, just a regular floating line, at the moment I’ve just started using the new Rio Predator lines which are really nice. Thanks for watching! :)

Hey Steve .. thanks for the vids and tips .. Qn .. do you change tippet when going subsurface to surface ? What strength are the leaders you're using .. Cheers Steve

Steve Teale Gday Steve! I usually fish fluorocarbon for sinking flies and mono for floating. You can fish mono with sinking flies but fluoro is more invisible in the water. You can also fish fluoro with floating flies but the fluoro sinks so it can tend to drag the fly under when you pick up to cast. I usually fish 6-8lb for bream, have tried 4lb but broke off too many flies. Lighter will get more bites but you need to be able to land the fish also, so 6 or 8lb is the sweet spot for me. :)

@@PeachyFlyFishing Cheers .. so if using both techniques it would be best to have a mono tippet .. Do you notice a decrease in takes sub-surface using mono? Thanks

Steve Teale I’ve fished mono subsurface and it’s fine. Slightly slower sink rate maybe, only disadvantage might be in very clear water you may get less bites because it’s more visible. But they are fairly minor differences in the scheme of things I reckon.

@@saratoga1956Mono leader + fluro tippet works best for me. U can fish topwater flies and sub surface flies with this setup
