Hey guys, hope you enjoyed today's video! There is a few things I wanted to point out: Firstly, it was so difficult to get a thumbnail shot, so that was the best shot I can get, taken at 1:39. Some information worth pointing out: - First services from Tallawong started at 4:38am - First services from Sydenham started at 4:54am - Riding the entire length from Tallawong to Sydenham and back takes roughly 1 hour. - First time a new rail line has crossed Sydney Harbour (above or under), since the Sydney Harbour Bridge opened in 1932. - The new section added another 15.5 kilometres of the M1 Line. So if I like the ride, why is the opening date controversial? The reason should be straight forward. The original date (which was Sunday 4th August) was on a weekend. When the government delayed the opening date, it left people disappointed and frustrated. When they finally got the approval, they decided to do the opening day on Monday 19th August (which was a weekday), which I thought that not everyone will be able to see the new line for themselves on day 1. Had it been done on a weekend (either on Sunday 18th August, one day earlier or even push it back the following weekend), the majority of the public will be able to ride the line on opening day and won't miss out. Other than that, there is a lot of benefits about this section of the line! I hoped you enjoyed this lengthy video (and uploaded on an afternoon), please Like, Subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss out on new videos being uploaded!
