The end of an era.
Sydney’s Bankstown Line opened in 1895 and features stations at Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, Hurlstone Park, Canterbury, Campsie, Belmore, Lakemba, Wiley Park, Punchbowl and Bankstown.
After the early hours of Monday 30th September 2024 the Bankstown Line will close to Sydney Trains services and will be closed for 12 (or more) months to be converted in to a driverless Sydney Metro Line.
This video shows each of the Bankstown Line stations and a full trip along the line during the final weekend of Sydney Trains running the line.
