I see this and it brings home the fact that we have changed so much since 1979. The Care for Kids ad will always bring back fond memories for me. It's ironic that I've come here, to the future, to look for my past. Without KZitem, I might not have even convinced myself that such times existed. But they did and I feel lucky to have been a part of the last last generation that allowed kids to be just that.....kids. Those times are long gone, but I find solace in the memories I've held on to.

I was in kindergarten that year, and I remember some of this stuff like Care for Kids, Ribena and that Milo ad made me want it. Those were the days for Australia. Nothing but wholesome Anglo-Celtic people.

Hahaha, I remember seeing a parody of the Camay ad on The Paul Hogan Show. The lady gets attacked by piranhas in her bathtub.

Cook books. Good for stopping a door. I came across one the other day whilst rifling a bin for deposit containers. Much bigger and bulkier than the one shown here. It still had binding integrity, and so forth, but I didn't want it, of course.

Yay for Ita Buttrose at 2:22 spruiking the Womenth Weekly Cookbook :-) And that Dietgard stuff at 5:46 where the woman says she lost " a stone and a half", I can see why as that stuff looks awful! And as for the Camay "booty product" which is "creamy and fragrant" that just made me ROFL. I remember the groovy Milo ads too. But the special one for me is the Care for Kids one at 3:20 and seeing that again after all these years kind of brought a tear to the eye. Thanks for sharing.

Was that a flash of 'Val Doonican' at 7:30? So many good lines from the 'CAMAY' commercial - "I'm making myself bootiful!", "CAMAY does wonderful things for me!" and the classic (used many times by Daryl Somers no Hey Hey, "It's not my birfday?" A great collection there...
