Susan, my best understanding came from watching my mom live with the disease. I have always lived totally opposite from my mother. So when I was diagnosed with the hereditary form of the disease I made a plan. I have cerebellar ataxia, but I am not going let it define me. It is kind of lengthy my thinking, but encouraging. If you would like to read more encouraging words, then we can exchange email addresses.

I had a cerebellar infarction that affected the right side of my cerebellum but had incoordination of the left side of my body. Please help me understand since this contradicts your presentation.

So it would seem that the cerebellum is really involved with ASD, ... incoordination with speech, sensory processing, and motor.. any thoughts or opinions that, or better yet.. insight? Thanks!

I am not aware of a connection between autism spectrum disorder and the cerebellum, but there is much I do not know about both topics.
