The USB powered drives like the WD Elements drive I used in the video. Don't seem to go into hibernation mode. Which seems to be confirmed on this forum - community.wd.com/t/does-a-wd-elements-drive-go-into-sleep-or-hibernation/261160 However, according to the user guide, a USB power WD Elements drive should be able to enter into hibernation mode. The only problem is that I can feel the disk in the drive spinning when Hyperbackup is not running. Possible it might be worth looking at a mains powered USB external drive instead?

This would have been aLOT more useful had it contained details of what ports are needed to be opened.

At this stage of our guide we have not yet setup our firewall. So firewall ports are not a problem. However, I am currently working on a video for configuring the firewall on a Synology NAS. So I will try and remember to include something about the port numbers for Hyper backup.
