Thanks for the video. I currently work in the warehouse at US. Foods and I'm highly considering getting my CDL next year. How many cases do drivers usually deliver a day at Sysco? Drivers at US Foods go through between 400 and 900. I'm a freezer selector and I go through betweem 1800 and 2200 a night. Currently at 345,975 cases for the year.

Lol that's baby cases over there at U.S Foods. Over at Sysco you'll look at anywhere between 950 minimum all the way up to 1500 cases a day. It's possible if your a hard worker if not it's going take you longer than normal but they normally send someone to help you if you cant finish it.

When it comes to trailer organization/money and dispatch time bro do you prefer Sysco or McLane?
@FoodServiceDriver
5 жыл бұрын
Honestly when it comes to organization ill give it to McLane hands down because of the fact that with Sysco you have to dig to find cases over at McLane all pallets are organized according to the stop so it makes it easier for you to grab the cases you need for the stop and deliver. As far as dispatch times with McLane your routes are ready atleast between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half before your dispatch time which means you could leave early to go on your route rather than Sysco you have to leave at the time that its dispatch on the paper in which it dosent allow you to leave early. As far as money they both pay good money to be honest except Sysco pays weekly and McLane pays bi-weekly
@marksinclair2592
5 жыл бұрын
Bro I can only imagine how much it helps leaving early for your route and the organization have you ever had a trailer heavy enough you had to “adjust the tandems” I heard that was kinda tricky to do. So you can balance the load. On average how long does it take you to finish even a heavy route my man?
@FoodServiceDriver
5 жыл бұрын
@@marksinclair2592 Everytime Im on route I always slide the tandems because the parking lots we go in is very tight so its easier to slide them. IT depends on what route you get. For example if you leave it on and you open the freezer then your letting that air from the cooler get into the freezer which would rise up the temp for the freezer and now your freezer would be warm instead of frozen. So i usually shut it off , do freezer, and then turn it back on

@FoodServiceDriver
3 жыл бұрын
On call means they will call you when they need you basically like extra board. So you will either come in or you will be at home and they will call you if they need you mostly it’s for people who goes on vacations, sick, injured, or call out last minute in which that case they will call you and tell you to come in and run the route. If they don’t need you then you won’t go to work but the thing about it is you only get paid for the days you work. They will pay you for being on call depending on how long your on call for it could be anywhere from 3hr - 8hr it all depends really
@FoodServiceDriver

If they can’t guarantee you going route then I wouldn’t do it trust me being on call sucks because you don’t know if your going to work or not but I would ask them do they need driver and if your going be kept busy. It don’t make no sense in coming to work for them if all you going do is be on call

@FoodServiceDriver

20-30 stops is teams routes in FoodService which allot of people won’t explain that. If it was that easy everyone will be doing it but, how can you drop food off at docks or front door when it comes to delivering to restaurants & hospitals? FoodService is not for everyone I can admit that & it is stressful but “ME” personally I can’t just drive all day with no physical work attached to it. Yes you may be unloading piece by piece but there’s ways to work around it & plus working 4 days a week 3 days off guarantee & have a set schedule as truck driver? There’s nothing that can beat that I’m sorry. S/O to all drivers but jobs like FedEx & UPS I couldn’t do personally there’s no way to be fit and active doing that type of work
