Ludwig von Bertalanffy created Gerneral Systems Theory (GST) in 1950s basing on his decades of researcher in biology since 1920s. James Grier Miller created Living Systems Theory in 1970s. Gernal Systems Theory is aross all disciplines related to systems, no matter living or non-living systems, while, Living Systems Theory applied GST only for all living systems to formalize the concept of life. So the 'Background' slide stating both Bertalanffy and Miller established the foundation of GST, is not correct.

Hi, do you have an example of a organisation which implement the systems theory approach? Great video thank you!
@orgcomm
6 жыл бұрын
Systems theory is a way of thinking about and viewing how organizations work. It is useful to describe and organizations. It is a way of looking at organizations. It's not one of those theories that organizations typically implement like the way they'd build an assembly line. However, I read an old article in Fast Company about the John Deere company that might be useful. The article talks about "complexity theory" but it's a related theory to systems. Chaos Theory/Complexity theory was build on top of systems theory. It just sounds more edgy. The article is a good illustration of what a company looks like when it moves away from an assembly line toward more systems thinking: www.fastcompany.com/35717/john-deere-runs-chaos

Amazing stuff! Coming from very independent perspectives, it would appear that as I attempted to unify classical mechanics and quantum mechanics, cognizant that Prof. Einstein had a problem appreciating quantum theory; believing that it was incomplete and had variables missing,it appears as I unmasked reality in the universe, I crafted a model in perfect harmony with the systems theory. By taking matter and radiation as inputs and immobile and mobile non-matter as outputs with the processes being interactions of inputs or outputs under a process in equilibrium, I have correctly account for Einstein's concerns about the incompleteness of the quantum theory. Thus, I could consider my new matter/non-matter equation published in october 2022 in the international IRJIRET journal as a true summary of the reality of how the universe ticks because my new equation is: 1) caters for both aspects of entanglement i.e it gives the immobile and mobile moeties that are on entanglement. and not just capturing electrons (mobiles) and leaving out the nucleus (immobile a) from which the electrons separate to become entangled with the same. This provides additional info Einstein and his EPR team considered lacking, yet Nobel Prize 2022 appears to have glossed over this concern. 2) Independently developed, my new equation that unifies classical and quantum mechanics and motivated by chemistry is electrifyingly similar with another version by Fotini Markopoulpu from a physics perspective, alluding at a consistency of thought across geographical regions and scientific disciplines. 3) My equation also has equally electrifying parallels with that providing for the cosmological constant. Overall, this developments merit constitution of a broad based panel of scientific experts to interrogate this scientific development with a view to making relevant and timely pronouncements, accordingly that may be needed to bring harmony and unanimity on matters that have bothered science for close to a Century now. 3,

Normativity is perspective dependent in "nature".that's why perspectivity is modeled nomatively. Organisation structures and thus systems are typically positive. Organisation goals, vision, mission and tergets are typically positive because they are objectively and subjectively achievable with in a given space, time and consciousness framework. Organisation dreams, beliefs, thoughts, and wishes fall between normatism and positivism cause some are physically achievable and others are just mythical and illusions cause their achievement can not be traced any where in space or time, but achieved only through consciousness.

Hi OC i just short cut it your name could you pls help me what is closed system?
@orgcomm
6 жыл бұрын
Well, organizations are open systems by definition but a closed system would be one that didn't allow the input and output exchange to happen. An isolated system that was self contained would be closed. When we're dealing with human organizations and workplaces, however, we're not dealing with closed system. For a more detailed definition, I'd just google it if I were you. I won't be doing a video on closed systems soon.
@majestycrush

An open system is like a plant bc it interacts with the environment and other plants around it. A closed system is like a rock because it’s just there and doesn’t interact with anything because it’s not alive

@orgcomm
3 жыл бұрын
It's not as simple as your statement makes it sound. If you Google, "What do we mean by theory," you'll see that words like "explain" and "explanatory" come up more frequently than "prediction." Some theories are ONLY intended to be primarily explanatory theories and that's a legitimate and valuable function of a theory. Nevertheless, systems theory, while mainly an explanatory theory, has been used for decades to make predictions, diagnose problems and solve them, and test various hypotheses. It is not a *_primarily_* predictive theory when compared to others but it still has lots of explanatory value.
