If you cook a steak in your house and the fire alarm's not going off you did it wrong

My hood sucks and I was kind of joking. But I would preheat that cast iron on a higher heat for a stronger sear. Also dry brining the steak for a while in the fridge with salt will help for a deeper sear. Less moisture and higher heat makes a better steak. Then turn it down and base with butter and preferred herbs. Im not one to tell someone what to season with because that's up to you. But seasoning that is that course will take away from a good contact of the steak and hot pan. Happy cooking!

@@kylerobinson4890 that's great! I cooked for a living for 15 years and have since moved on but I do cook every day for my family still. Think of something you want to cook and then watch a few different videos on how to make it. Pick what techniques you like from all of them and give it a go! Cooking is not a science. Have fun with it and make what you think tastes good! it's ok to make mistakes when you 1st start. Every dish is a little better than the last one! 😊👍

I respect the video. However, why is it all grey? Need some pink in that or it will be chewy. Unless that's the way you like it. Perhaps try it at the temp between 135-140. Might change your life. I thought steak was over rated until I released that everyone I ever had before prepared by others was overcooked. Same for pork chops. There is a difference between safe to eat and dry and tough.

Sear the both sides leave seasonig off salt pepper all you need. Once both sides are seared. Toss in oven. Or 8 minutes on each side.

This looks horrible. Just use salt, not that stuff, and your fresh rosemary is so old it's turning dry, no crust, can't say over cooked because it's your choice. You cut it and didn't let it rest at all.
